What are you looking forward to?

Asked by OpryLeigh (25310points) November 27th, 2009

What positive things are happening to you in the near future that you are excited about? This can be as big or small as you like.

For example: I am going to see Anastacia in concert tomorrow. She touring with Chaka Khan and Lulu in Here Come The Girls and I am a HUGE Anastacia fan. I am really looking forward to this.

What plans are you looking forward to?

I’m excited for my wedding in July. Mostly because I can’t wait for the stress and lack of money to be over with!

Tonight, I have a birthday party to go to. Tomorrow is karate class!

I’ve been invited to do a storytelling show in January. That sounds like fun! I have a writing partner and we’re writing sketches. I look forward to shooting and performing in those.

And at some point, I will have a steady income again that’s more to my liking. It may not necessarily come from a regular job, who knows? But I look forward to having lots more money.

And a relationship. While I’m not sure when that will happen, either, I realize that I can’t be alone forever. The universe abhors a vacuum and all that., so :D

Well, as silly as this sounds, since I am now single, I am looking forward to visiting certain attractive male friends of mine.

I’m looking forward to the end of school.

I’m looking forward giving my mom the big Christmas present I got her. It’s a lovely mah jong set because she always talks about how she used to love playing!

@antimatter That would really be wonderful!

My youngest turns three in January, and I will finish classes for my bachelor’s in December of next year, so I have a graduation ceremony to do in May.

I look forward to the moments when it’s just me and my girl.

They don’t happen just as often as I’d like, but when they do happen, it’s hard to prise the grin from my face.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@ModernEpicurian I know that feeling! Those are the moments I look forward to the most too.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go to the Carolinas with my girlfriend (American Thanksgiving), and I miss her like crazy. I’m looking forward to having her back in my arms and can’t wait to give her a good, long smooch.

In the short term, I’m looking forward to Dec.19th. This semester will be over, for one. What I’m most excited about, though: I have a lot of work ahead of me to prepare, but 12/19 is the day I’m planning on departing on a cross-country road trip, with my belongings and kitty in tow. I’ll be moving back to the Bay Area after a very long 10 years! This fills me with an absurdly huge joy. I saw a rainbow today, and since I haven’t seen one in probably as long as I’ve been gone from CA, I took that as a really good sign. I also look forward to the fact that my dating pool (and the quality thereof) will increase exponentially once I get back to the Bay Area. :)

Long-term, I look forward to finishing school so that I don’t have to wait tables anymore. I also look forward to being more financially stable, having a real job, and hopefully meeting the love of my life and having kids.

@MissAnthrope It all sounds good, girl. An exciting adventure awaits. Awesome!

At the moment: sleep

Near Future: A lighter schedule (after working 80hrs/week for the past 2 weeks)

Down the Road: Finding a new job where 50hrs/week isn’t the minimum

Becoming a grown up.

Darwin's avatar

@janbb – Funny. Me, too. I’ve been looking forward to that for decades. I am told it isn’t as fun as it looks, though.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@janbb and @Darwin I have no plans of growing up, it all sounds too much like hard work!!!

Darwin's avatar

When I grow up I want to be a firefighter. But first I’ll try being a grandma.

janbb's avatar

@Darwin Being a grandma is fun, even if you haven’t become a grown-up yet.
