$100,000 salary and a healthy commission and bonus + car expense and all travel reimbursed. That’s for me. For you I suggest you look at the field and your credentials and see what you are worth. Don’t go in too cheap but don’t price yourself out of the market. If you get the job you will have time to show your worth and get your salary increase.
Try this.
well what do i put in? i want it in a right amount.
Well, what do you do and what is your experience and what does the market generally pay? I can’t tell you what amount unless I have a working idea of the above.
this is for my bro, his first job, no exp.
zero sum you greedy bastards
In the “good old days” his benefactor would have paid someone to take him on as an apprentice, since he has no experience.
Does he have any skills that would make him valuable to a prospective employer? Would you want to hire him to work in your business? What would you pay him?
Today @Sueanne_Tremendous’ suggestion is the way most people see it.
If it will let you type in “negotiable” go with that. If it won’t, but it will let you move on without answering, leave it blank. If you are forced to answer, you’ll have to do some market research to find out what they generally pay, and what your qualifications are compared to their typical employee, then give it a reasonable response. I never hire or refuse to interview anyone over that question, and I rarely consider their answer in determining what I feel is a fair offer of salary. It just gives the hiring managers an idea of what you are looking for (far less or far more than they will offer).
Minimum annual income. I hate that question. If you are way out of range they won’t bother with you. Maybe they should tell you what the salary range is to see if you are interested? It seems like such an unfair question. @juwhite1 sounds good to me.
I checked out salary.com and other suggestions by flutherites…then I hiked my price up about 20k because I’m worth more than the average…and I got what I wanted
