Why is my kitten peeing on my daughters bed?
We have 2 kittens that are 8 months old. We adopted them when they were 2 months old. Recently we’ve noticed that 1 of them is peeing on my daughters bed. They both use the litter box just fine and they don’t go on the bed very often. I’m not sure what I need to do to get her to stop. We change and wash the sheets quite often. Could the smell be deeper in the mattress? How could I get the scent out of the mattress?

Not a fan of your daughter? Cats do sometimes pee in places to “get even.” I had a cat once that would pee in my shoes when I left town.
Just be happy it’s not your daughter peeing in the litter box :-)
I had one that peed on my roommate’s bed because she was pissed that she was never home. Literally. :)
Anything your daughter is doing to piss the cat off so that its taking revenge?
The smell being deep in the mattress is a real possibility. If the cat marked the mattress with musk, rather than urine, it may be clean but the musk smell could still be hanging around.
From what I can gather from Google, you need to find a cleaning product for getting the cat-stink out. I would try some pet stores, as cat spraying is a common problem. I have no idea how many bags my cat has marked that we had to throw out.
Also: are the cats males? They still may mark even if they are female.
Maybe he’s just a little pissy?
It’s just a kitten it’s only 8 months I got a kitten that was around 6 months he couldn’t decide where to pee even though he had a spiffy litter box but he would poop in my shower obviously it was easy to get the smell out but we went to Petco and bought some spray and sprayed it around my shower so he wouldn’t poop there. Try going to Petco is all I can say
I had a cat that got mad at me for having another cat around for one night and he peed on the bed as revenge.
territory…. kitty is marking her place. They make this spray (I got it from my vet, but I don’t know the name & don’t have it anymore, sorry) and you spray it on places you don’t want the cat to pee… it makes it smell (to them only, not to us) like another animal has marked their territory and thus, the cat won’t pee there anymore. It worked wonders for my 11 year old girl who was constantly peeing on the carpet.
Can you keep the door to your daughter’s room closed?
I hate to say it, but you probably won’t ever get that smell out completely. Cat urine is tough to get out of anything. I would replace her mattress and keep your daughter’s door shut.
