Are people trying to hack my Facebook account?

I keep getting bogus Fb “friend requests”.
These are people I do not know…and all are women.
Am I being baited?

I have ignored all their requests, but what is going on here? Has anyone else experienced this?

Are there folks out there who just want to make “friends” randomly?
