How do I get rid of these menu bar icons in Leopard?

Asked by andrew (16562points) February 19th, 2008

Since I just upgraded to Leopard I have some crud that I can’t get rid of… a Fax icon, a .mac sync icon, and my bluetooth status. I’ve tried going to the respective preference panes, but there are no “show icon in menu bar” preferences for any of them.

Hold command and drag them out.
They will go away with a puff of smoke.

No problem.

You can drag the items on your personalized menu bar outside the window and get the same Poof!

Double-click the ones you want in Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/, and if you don’t want them anymore, ‘poof’ them away :-)
