What is the term used in philosophy and Logic?
What is the term used to describe this situation:
Many people believed the world was flat. At some point a person must of said “I believe the world is flat, because so many people told me so” However, at some point it was discovered the world was a sphere.

It’s an Argumentum ad populum fallacy, as far as i know.
BTW i see what you did wth the topics… good job ^_^
Yes thats right! thank you
you don’t have to capitalize Logic. just plain old “logic” will do.
Iconoclastic?
or,
Iconoclast?
And also note as a side bar that one says, “At some point a person must have said….”
i am from the south, I have grown up with must of instead of saying have… its just habit
@Rememberme: No problem when speaking; if you are writing, however, you want to be more elegant.
@Rememberme On the subject of “must of”...yes, you grew up saying must “of” because the contraction of “must’ve” sounds like “must of.” It sounds that way to everyone. In writing, it’s a totally different animal.
@gailcalled Yes. You need to know the difference between the way the contraction sounds and what it really is.
@Val123. (I do know. You’re not talkin’ to me, are you?)
Crazy thing is, people still employ that kind of thinking.
