I get those lost turkey messages too and I don’t even play farmville! I hate it. With a passion.

Haha. It sure seems like it. More than half of my alerts on Facebook are Farmville related. I’m tired of receiving these gifts and neighbor requests for that. It gets annoying after awhile.

I tried it once, and found it to be ridiculous. I don’t have the time or the interest to re-check my facebook every 2 hours to harvest squash or whatever.

@ThomasJames next time you get a massage for farmville, look down at the options it gives you, because you should be able to tell it to block all requests from a specific application. That’s what I did.

I can only hope not.

NO! Refuse to ever even look into it.

Oh lord. What would it say about North America if it were….

Just block the app. I hid majority of FB apps on my mini feed so now I only see news about things that interest me like status updates. To do the same: hover your mouse to the right of the particular news and then click on “Hide” button that shows up and choose to hide the app. Congratulations, you no longer need to learn about people’s cafe/farm/mafia/quizzes etc time drain results!

God no! My wife is doing it now. God help me. I have to listen to that music and hear all about how great her wheat crop is doing. I could give a shit if a lonely pink cow wanders onto her farm and craps strawberry twinkies. It’s all the stupid shit such as Farmville and giving away bearhugs that I hate about Facebook.

A poor lost question about Farmville has been asked on Fluthertown. Oh No!!

To be honest, I’ve never played it. But my boyfriend does and I’ve seen it. I think it’s cute that people like it so much because it’s such an innocent game. :)

God forbid people play a game that isn’t all blood and guts and killing people. And God forbid people actually enjoy what they’re doing online. It may not be my bag, but I certainly don’t hate people for doing it and actually, it’s kinda funny when people flip out because people are playing it.

Is there any way to block all that insipid chaff on FB?

@AstroChuck

Yes, the noises are the worst. My roommates play it and the constant mooing and bleating that comes from their rooms had me concerned for the first couple days. Now I fall asleep to it. Lately though it’s been supplanted by sounds of Modern Warfare 2 (much healthier).

It’s a fad. Like everything else it will die.

@DominicX I wish I could give you 100 great answers for that.

I’ll admit, I play. I spend a short time during my day playing this game. One thing I don’t do is flood the feed with lost cows and clumsy reindeer. I will take those lost animals though if others post them. I also turn the volume down so I don’t hear the music and animal sounds because that can get annoying after a while. You can block the application so you don’t receive this stuff if it’s not your thing.

My husband plays Xbox, I play Farmville. We’re all happy. No harm done.

I’m watching another girl at my work play right now. She doesn’t look all that interested or excited…

jonsblond's avatar

@Foolaholic She probably has that look on her face because her job is so boring that she has to pass the time playing games on the internet. ;)

@jonsblond

True, it’s not the most entertaining of employment…
