I need a suggestion as to what would be a good gift for my 1.5 year boyfriend. He’s clean cut, likes technology, but doesn’t want technology from me. What is a good thoughtful gift to give him?

a gift card so he can get what he wants that way
I’ll tell you what gifts I bought my boyfriend: celtics tickets, diamond earrings(they’re not that expensive), an iPod, and cologne. He seemed to like all of them
your boyfriend is 1.5 years old?!
Maybe a book about technology?
No my boyfriend is 19 and we have been dating for 1.5 years. The budget is probably less than 100 maybe a lil more.
A nice watch? A cologne he likes? Both?
I thought about the watch, but he already has one and he says he is attached to it.
Gift certificate for a fancy restaurant and a nice back rub?
New wallet with a picture of you inside it.
Professional massage? I copied this from the ‘Services’ menu at a local spa.
Buy two and go together. That would be hot!
Swedish Massage
This classic European technique is the most common in massage therapy. Stress is eased with long, flowing strokes and muscle kneading. This firm, but gentle, full-body massage improves circulation, relieves muscle tension, and creates a heightened sense of well-being and relaxation.
60 minutes…$85
90 minutes…$120
Neck, Back, and Shoulder Massage
This massage is a condensed version of the classic Swedish massage, focusing on the neck, back, and shoulders. It is perfect for those who are looking for a quick fix from stress-related pain or tension.
30 minutes…$45
Deep Tissue Massage
This therapeutic massage works deep into the muscle tissues, both along and across the muscle fibers. Slow, deep movements are used to release muscle tension, reduce scar tissue, and increase range of motion. This type of massage is recommended for individuals wanting more detailed bodywork on specific muscle groups.
60 minutes…$95
90 minutes…$135
Sports Massage
This massage is designed to prepare muscles for exercise and to help them recover more rapidly for the next round of activity. This is a vigorous massage that includes stretching, friction, and range of motion techniques.
60 minutes…$95
90 minutes…$135
If he’s a techno boy buy him something cuddly and protective for his iPod/iPhone
I recommend an iPod hoodie. Or you can get some excellent neoprene sleeves from gymspacific.com
No technology? What about the exception of video games? If he likes them you could get him Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Final Fantasy XIII, that’s coming out soon!
he already has a case for his iPod. the massage thing is a good idea :)
I bet he’s worried that technology bought by someone else for him could be miles away from anything that he would find useful or helpful. (not in an insulting way, of course; more like someone thinking a fruitcake is nice and then giving one to somebody who hates them) For instance, if you got him a big-boy Mac Pro, he might be a little disappointed if, at the same time, he bought several games and assorted programs… for PC’s. That would make the Mac polarized to what he really needed. If you do decide to buy him technology, PLEASE save all the receipts and make sure you can return it for a full refund.
How about some homemade brownies?? i’m so stealing this from original poster, lol
Does he enjoy any sports or outdoor activities? There are lots of possibilities in that arena.
Also there is a good store to buy things for people who are into technology but don’t want you to buy it for them. They have fun technological gadgets but nothing really technical.
Anyone what is that store called? It is in most malls? Has lots of feet massagers, egg shaped alarm clocks, and all kinds of odd technology.
Brookstone is gadgets, Brooks Brothers is conservative clothing.
Check out www.thinkgeek.com for interesting ideas.
I got one of these filled with brownies.

How about a subscription to a magazine? My mom got me a free year at the Museum and Science Center for my birthday. We get to go to the planetarium any time we want for free. Sometime a subscription or passes to something can be the gift that keeps on giving.
@jamielynn2328 Oh I like that idea too, i always loved getting that as a gift :)
@johnpowell oh god, i want brownies so bad RIGHT NOW
I know you and your SO said no technology, but I’m in the same boat (so likes tech, but not from me, as I know zilch) and I got my boyfriend a external hard drive which he really appreciated. From what i can tell, you can’t go wrong with those because if they’re tech oriented, they can wipe the programing and still use the hard drive space.
Otherwise, concert tickets?
@fred931 although he could run bootcamp on the mac to install windows (ugh) and then play pc games to his hearts content.
I wouldn’t recommend buying anyone a computer though particularly anyone who knows their own mind on tech, and would know exactly what spec they were after.
@Pcrecords I’ve heard that Windows on Macintosh computers is suckish. That’s why I went ahead and used the PC/Mac comparison.
@fred931 how would one know the difference my experience of windows is it sucks just about everywhere.
