Any.Christmas.Song. Played over and over and over at work as if anyone cares.
That annoying song “Down”
Now, I really don’t care what’s on the radio, but it’s really driving me nuts
Umbrella by Rihanna. I can’t get my finger on the button quick enough to change the radio station when it’s on.
Anything snoop dog sings.
It depends on the Christmas song that drives me nuts but that usually doesn’t happen.
@PretentiousArtist That song is sooo annoying!!! I know what you mean!
@chyna Really? :P
@ChazMaz I agree completely!
@chyna I hate Umbrella too. She sounds like a dying goat.
Any and all of Hinder’s songs have this sort of effect on me. I will never see the appeal.
Any song on a Top 40 station. They’re all catchy at first, but if you’ve ever listened to the station for more than an hour, you’d notice that the songs keep looping over and over again ad nauseam.
Gasolina by Daddy Yankee.
I never thought I could have felt as if I’ve heard a song a-million times ALREADY when in actuality it was brand new (at the time).
I’m just not a big fan of hip hop and r&b.. I feel that it lacks originality. Granted there are some artist who are original and come up with their own stuff.. but most of them are just in it for the money and will simply do as they are told.. that’s why i’m more of a contemporary jazz type of person.. I feel like those artist actually have talent..
@vanphan I totally agree!
Whatever your favorite song happens to be.
@ChazMaz I just have to pretend to have never seen that… (my all-time favorite rapper, yes I enjoy rap, I also enjoy several other forms of music).
yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
the annoying song by jason whatever
WHAT YOU SAY..annoying ass song, her voice sounds like shes dying
Barbie Girl
Anything by that Crazy Frog
No Air – worst lyrics ever
“Brass monkey” and “Girls” by beastie boyz… fail
Anything done by Nickelback. Take your pick.
I’m f*cking sick of Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z. Alicia Keys’ bellowing, Blah blah blah Nooo Yaaaaaawk! gnaws on my last nerve. And I hear it everywhere. Because I live in New York.
@Fred931- no no no I almost threw my computer after the song started playing. Why did I click the link to hear a song that was voted horrible??
I agree, “agh!”
“Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme” by Simon & Garfunkel
Anything from coldplay
BLAARGH
We’ve got an 80’s satellite station at work and sometimes they play a Stevie Nicks song that makes me cringe inside. There’s also a Sheena Easton one but I don’t know the name. My solution is to put the phone on “page” for as long as possible which interrupts the speaker system. I can do this about three times and get through most of the song. So far it seems much appreciated.
oh yeah, Nickleback (sp) sucks a few years ago they performed during halftime at one of our hockey games and people took that as a cue to swarm into the concession stands and restrooms, they were that good.
I am with all those who voted for anything by Nickelback, with that song about today being your last day being the absolute worst. I am also right there with @filmfann on Seasons in the Sun. A couple others for me include Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Riders on the Storm by The Doors, and pretty much anything by Bob Seger or Gordon Lightfoot.
AC/DC is pretty annoying too. But is it annoying enough to make me yell?
Let’s see…
@SuperMouse Wow, we might have to re-think our relationship… Bob Seger? Really?
lol.
Waiting For the World to Change, the perfect anthem for a generation of do-nothing know-nothing-niks.
@chyna his voice just really, really grates on me!
“Never gonna give you up” is the best 80’s song. FACT
Ok, don’t kill me, but I have a negative physical reaction to most Rush songs. I have never understood Geddy Lee’s voice. I wish I could; I know Rush has been influential for a lot of people involved in music, but I swear his voice grates on my nerves like nothing else! And I have to reluctantly say it, but I am actually one of the 7 people on the planet who actually have fond memories of Rick Astley :)
@lbinva78 and @PretentiousArtist there is no denying that Rick Astley can belt out a tune.
@lbinva78 your description of what Geddy Lee’s voice does to you fits perfectly for what Bob Seger’s voice does to me! That Nickelback guy, the AC/DC guy and the fellow from Hinder all have that effect on me as well!
I would gladly use a pike to smash that Hinder guy’s vocal cords. Or cord. Whatever.
Any of the so-called “popular” music you hear on the radio. They aren’t talented and I wish the young people I see liking it would gain better sense. Lady Gaga (or as I like to call it, Lady GAG ME PLEASE), Katy I-will-never-live-the-kissingagirl-thing-down Perry, Jonas Brothers (make me want to SCREAM), Miley Cyrus (needs to remember that even little teenagers with tiny boobies should wear a bra), Amy Whorehouse (oh I mean Winehouse….my bad)..........this list could go on and on and freaking on.
@rangerr The youth of a generation should try to make the world a better place not stand by idly and expect the world to magically improve without any commitment.
@galileogirl Define “youth of a generation”... and who said they aren’t trying to change it?
I don’t know who the hell it is or what he sings but there is a little boy that looks about 12 and I keep seeing him when ever I have the Tv on mostly on MTV and BET. I think he sings some kind of R&B and I think the song is something about a lonely girl. Whatever his name is he really annoys me and totally freaks me out!
HOT CHILD IN THE CITY. “girls night out” by miley cyrus. i almost slit my throat.
@deni Hot Child In the City is definitely on my list!
How my brain works: I downloaded 15 or 20 songs that make me scream at the radio, and burned them onto a CD. I then hid the CD in my library, so that those songs couldn’t hurt me anymore. True story.
@sjmc1989 – If you’re 9 or 10, it’s probably awesome, you know? I wouldn’t listen to it, but that song is not meant for me. My older friends tell me about Shaun Cassidy back in the day. We don’t get it, but the little girls understand…
@aprilsimnel I guess I understand I just didn’t listen to that kind of music when I was little I grew up being in love with Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. I also hope that 9 and 10 year olds aren’t watching MTV and BET but that just me.
@sjmc1989, When I was 10, I was listening to Blondie, Talking Heads and DEVO, so I understand where you’re coming from.
@rangerr The lyric is waiting for the world to change not making the world change or changing the world or anything that implies any positive action. The youth of a generation, the young people coming into adulthood, the people who are able to look at the world with fresh eyes and ideas. Is that so far beyond your ken?
When I first heard this song I was just pulling into my garage and I had to sit in my car until it was over. The lyric represented such apathy that I was sure it would end with a switcheroo call to arms message like “we have to be the ones to make the world change” It just passively faded away..
@rangerr I knew there was a reason I lurved you! :)
I expect some criticism from this, but Michael Jackson makes me want remove my eardrums with a spoon.
@galileogirl Did you actually listen to the words, or just what you wanted to hear?
“Now we see everything that’s going wrong with the world and those who lead it. We just feel like we don’t have the means to rise above and beat it ”
“It’s not that we don’t care, we just know that the fight ain’t fair”
“One day our generation is gonna rule the population.”
Step out of your narrow-minded bubble for a few minutes and actually listen to things for once. What can the youth do right now to fix the government? What can we do outside of trying to raise our voice, even though we know that the governments won’t take it seriously. The youth that I know are trying very hard to fix problems. Just starting with the smaller ones that we don’t have to be wealthy or high-powered members of society to have a say in. We want to help, but with the constant change that the world is going through, nobody has been able to come up with a way to fix things.
We can look at the world with fresh eyes and idea, but we aren’t the ones who can put them into action. Our generation isn’t in control. There’s no way to fix that.
@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities made me chuckle I didn’t see the Rankins on this list. I listen to talk radio but the jingle for the tv show Weeds gets my hackles up.
Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. I’d rather slit my throat than endure having to sit through that whole song.
@deni Yes! Seriously bad. And I can’t seem to escape it. I turn to a different station and it’s on that one too!
Absolutely anything by Gordon Lightfoot.
Also anything by Nickleback. Ughhhhh. Just thinking about their songs make my ears bleed.
“This is the song that never ends”
@rangerr Actually it;s better to look at all the lyrics to get the full effect
me and all my friends
we’re all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there’s no way we ever could
now we see everything that’s going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don’t have the means
to rise above and beat it
So misunderstood, poor babies, things are so bad we aren’t even going to try’
it’s hard to beat the system
when we’re standing at a distance
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want
It’s so hard to change the system so we’ll just stand here and not even try. After all THEY control the media so we have no power-well thats just CRAP the world has never been more open to communicating ideas than it is today
it’s not that we don’t care,
we just know that the fight ain’t fair
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
Listen, life has never been fair, that just means you fight harder and smarter than the establishment
and we’re still waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
one day our generation
is gonna rule the population
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
How the hell do you think you are rule the nation by standing around waiting for it to fall into your laps?
@galileogirl He’s trying to say that things are so bad that he feels it’s out of our hands right now.
But, what do you think this generation is doing, since clearly we aren’t doing shit to make the world a better place.
You go change the world and then come back and I’ll apologize for criticizing your reasons for bitching about the song.
anything at all done by Christina Aguilera- anything with her over-taught and under-talented voice makes me want to have kittens all over the deck.
I’m not totally sure that it’s accurate to judge an entire generation based off one shitty song but….eh. i’ve been wrong before.
@lamedb If you have kittens all over your deck, may I have one?
@rangerr Leaving the world a better place than I found it has been a major part of my existence. I hope one day you can say the same
@deni The original question was what the worst song I ever heard was, evidently I win for the shittiest song ever. A song that says this generation is useless should have killed John Mayer’s career because it is so bad
@galileogirl This is why you can’t judge our generation based off a damn song. I’ve done more for the world than just about anyone I know. 99% of my summers are traveling and helping others. Hell, I’m going to Uganda in the middle of a war for 3 months to work with their children. Do not tell me that I don’t say the same thing. I’ve slept outside in the middle of DC in a lightning storm to raise awareness for these kids.
You’re not above everyone else.
^ Oh my ^
Other than almost all of those songs that are listed up there are in my list. But my número uno is ”Suck My Kiss” -Red Hot Chili Peppers. That song is sooooo boring!
Helloooo @rangerr Work on your reading comprehension skills. This is about the WORST SONG EVER because of the way it characterizes the generation. Your knee jerk reaction was to defend the the message of the song.
BTW Exactly how does sleeping in a thunder storm help the children of Uganda? I have been teaching about Uganda since the hijacking to Entebbe,
I’m pretty sure you need to work on your comprehension skills.
“Now we see everything that’s going wrong with the world and those who lead it. We just feel like we don’t have the means to rise above and beat it.”
We can’t change the fact that the fucked up government has control. Unless you have a super fucking awesome plan to change that, I don’t see how you can say that it is characterizing our generation as useless when we can’t do anything to change government.
As for the rain thing. That part wasn’t intentional.
About 5,000 of us slept outside of the Capitol building to raise awareness of the fact the kids are getting kidnapped and thrown into horrible situations. Congress was in session the next day, and with that many of us, they couldn’t ignore us asking for them to sign on to the bill saying that the US will help rescue the child soldiers.
But this is horribly off topic, and I have 4 exams tomorrow, so I’m done here.
@galileogirl Leaving the world a better place than I found it has been a major part of my existence.
I believe it was @rangerr that mentioned in a previous thread about water conservation that she was willing to change her ways about wasting water, not you…. hmmm….interesting indeed
Black Eyed Peas “Where is the love” and that awful “Wear Sunscreen” song by Baz Luhrmann.
@rangerr Mad lurve all around to you. I’m proud to have you in my fluther.
@ringaroundtherosie Hmmm, could that be because I have always been conservation-aware? If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down, etc for over 30 years
I’ve prepared a short list for just such an occasion.
ahem
Anything by Nickelback, Bon Jovie, Lil Wayne, any song that uses the word ‘skeet’, Katy Perry, crappy midi songs on cell phones, Puddle of Mud, Rush, Pink Floyd and Kuntry music.
Turning Japanese
Where Is My Mind- Pixies
Anything by Michael Jackson post 84
Horrible fake-techno remakes of good songs.
The Venga Bus by the Venga Boys (think crappy Six Flags commercial)
The Macarena. (it hurt me to write that, the song is so bad)
GreenDay- anything beyond the second album. (punk my a#$)
Girls Girls Girls by whoserface
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun- Mz Lauper (her other songs are wonderful)

Good Vibrations- Beach Boys (they have much better songs)
Elanor Ripley- The Beatles. (hate hate hate that song)
Funny thing is- if I were to make a list of songs I like, it would take four pages of Flutherspace.
Does anyone else think that Taylor Swift is on the heaviest rotation of all time? I’m sure she deserves the awards she’s won, but c’mon! If I see her come up on VH1 one more time, I’m gonna go blind.
@stratman37 I’d forgotten about her. Add her to mah lissssst.
LOL4RL! You guys are funny! :) Alot of the songs listed there are suck-ish. Haha.:P
Yes, all “songs” that sound like mind-numbing noise.
