My Toshiba Sattelite A205 power port is broken and I have no way of charging my laptop. Will a Toshiba Express Port Replicator be able to charge it?

The Satellite models that are listed as compatible with the Express Port Replicator are the following: R20, R25; Satellite Pro S300, S300M; Portege M400, M405, M700 and M750; Tecra A9, A10, M7, M9, M10 and R10 series portable computers. Since the A205 isn’t listed my guess is no.

Screw Toshiba. They want to sell you a new motherboard. A tech with a soldering iron can fix your puter in a couple of minutes. He’ll need to open it up, remove the mainboard, and replace or resolder the connector. Don’t try a big chain or Geek $quad. Find yourself some little guys who work out of their houses or storefronts and get some quotes. Times are tough, these guys are hungry, and they want your business.
