Does anyone know how mimes do what they do?

Like when they put their hands against imaginary glass, or play tug of war with a rope…with no rope? In a way, it’s almost like a science. I mean, I don’t think I could just teach my self how to do it, simply by practicing…..what are the basics of the technique?

They learn the craft from other Mimes or attend Mime School
When I was in Drama a Mime came in and taught us how to be in a “glass box” it was fun.
A mime taught my son how to do “the wall.” It is a learned skill, but just like anything else, some do seem to have an aptitude for it.
I think the hardest part would be to keep completely silent throughout the whole routine…probably because I’m so loud but still, I give mime’s crazy props for their amazing self control.
The true question should not be how they do it, but why they do it.
It’s a mystery we may never know. A water witch once told me that either you’re born with it or you’ll never have it. But in some cases if you have the mark of the beast in your armpit, you can be converted and with a ceremony and a hideous striped shirt, Sha-Zam!
With a lot of study and lots more practice.
I think there should be signs in major cities that say “Caution, Mime Zone”
They just do their job and keep their mouth shut!!
