I feel your pain with the cost but anything dealing with brakes I buy new.
I know these aren’t quite the answers that you wanted to hear.
But, well, braking is kinda an important part of driving. Or, well, not driving depending upon how you look at it.
I wuv you Val and wouldn’t want you driving off a bridge or something because you couldn’t stop. That would make me sad. :(
@ModernEpicurian LOL!!
@avvooooooo we don’t have bridges in kansas. the worst i could do is kill a cow.
The thing is, you guys, the brake booster isn’t even needed to stop the car….it’s just a boosting mechanism to bring the brakes up to you. Kind of a convenience thing, like power steering. I mean, I HAVE brakes, but they’re just a little more difficult to use than normal. Not having the booster wouldn’t mean I can’t stop….
Having irratic brake behaviour ( like the brakes being suddenly more difficult to use) puts you and your passengers at risk. Those precious milliseconds to react to danger are diminished.
If a kid runs in front of you or a Semi skids into your lane you could lose dozens of feet of stopping time.
The price sucks- but your safety is worth far more than $149.00
Besides- as others have said we like you and don’t want you hurt.
@Dog Do not! You don’t mod people you like!! (JK!) Oh, I’m not questioning the need to replace the booster. It’s just that it would be nice if I could get a good used one. It’s not like I’m looking for used brakes!
@moooooooooo cow is daid.
@Val123 Cowz can make you daid! Like deer!
@avvooooooo O. Will a brake booster skeer the cows away?
@Val123 No, you hafta wear a funny hat for that!
@Val123 Yup! That one should have them running for cover! In the other way! :D
@Val123 I only mod you because I lurve you. :)
@Dog Oh my. You sound like my mother! :)
@Val123 ~That’s nice dear, now sleep tight- don’t let the bed bugs bite!
(oh my gosh… I sounded like my grandma!)
