Are the robot hamsters dumb or cool?

Asked by kevbo (25672points) December 6th, 2009

I haven’t been a kid in a long time, but something about robot pet toys strikes me as wrong. Anyway, I happened to be at Toys R Us this morning at a lucky enough moment to witness moms picking apart a new shipment of these robot hamster things and calling all their mommy friends to rush down to the store to get them because Toys R Us would only sell one per person.

So are they all that and do kids really like them? What age are they good for?

Well, at least they don’t die if your kid forgets to feed them remembering my nephew’s lizard and my niece’s bunny with sadness.

I was wondering the same thing, my sister wants one of those for Christmas. They’re sold out everywhere. I’d rather get her a real one.

I would definitely get a real hamster over a robot hamster ANYDAY. True that the real ones are tougher to take care of, but they can be so AA! (Adorable and awesome)

They are, beyond the very possibility of a doubt, the greatest invention of our, or any other, age.

I personally think they’re strange but at least they don’t bite. (Do they?) hamsters are cranky little things.

1 vote for dumb.

Two votes. Robotic hamsters sound a little creepy…

Three votes for dumb. I bet the cheap robots will be in the trash by March.

They’re dumb, but they are the coolest thing in the 1st grade girl crowd. They’re good for distracting 6 year olds, and not much else. And sometimes, that’s good enough. :)
