It sounds like the chat is empty a lot anymore. It must not be used much now.

@jbfletcherfan The chat is used quite a bit. Sometimes if people are in there they’re send a tweet out via twitter and a bunch of us hop on. But when it’s dead, it’s dead :[

I wrote a Greasemonkey script to make it easier to find the room if you use Firefox. pic. It also has a button to visit a random question. You can get it here.

@chelseababyy It’s been months & months since I’ve gotten in there. It was such a hodge-podge that it wasn’t worth it.

I went in it yesterday, it was empty, so I left. lol

Is it not possible to use the chat room from the iPhone or am I just dense?

There doesn’t seem to be a way to get the keyboard to appear so that I can type.

@Buttonstc Hmmm I’m on my iPhone too and I’m having the same issue.

Click on the little text entry field in the lower left and the keyboard will pop up.

John, I went first to the pic you posted and then went over to the chatroom to try it.

There was no button on the bottom. Zip, nolo, nada. I even tried to scroll it up, but there is just blank gray.

What’s going on here?

Yes I see it in your screen shot and what I’m trying to tell you is that entire bottom area does not appear for me. My page ends in white only. No boxes no buttons nothing at all.

And when I try to scroll it up to see if it might be hidden or something there is nothing there.

This is really frustrating.

@Buttonstc @ItalianPrincess1217- You should be able to access the chatroom with your iPhone by just tapping on the link. I have no problems getting on it.

I don’t have a problem getting in. It’s just that I can’t type anything since the keyboard won’t come up. How do you do that on yours?

@Buttonstc Yes it’s the 3G. I just touched the little white rectangle area at the bottom left part of the screen and the my keyboard popped up.

One other thing I wonder tho. Are you accessing Fluther through the official Fluther Application or are you using Safari?

Yeah, I don’t really anticipate a problem on computer, but it’s really cold and I’m snug under the covers with my iPhone and warm kitty and reluctant to change.

I’m trying to figure out why nothing comes up for the keyboard on MY phone.

I access if through safari but it’s the mobile website. Not the full site.

@Buttonstc It doesn’t show up because you are using the app. If you go on ifluther.com in the safari it will show up.

Unfortunately, I’m not using the app. I deleted it months ago when I discovered it’s limitations.

So, do I have the only iPhone on which it’s impossible to bring up the keyboard in chat?
This is very weird (and giving me a little bit of an inferiority complex) :(. Hmmm

i.fluther.com is exactly what it says so that’s where I am. That’s what Safari takes me to.

But there is absolutely NOTHING at the bottom of the page in the chatroom. No oblong box, nothing to click on, just empty white space.

Aarrgh this is frustrating.

Hmmm. I’m on ifluther too and it works for me…I’m confused. Why would it be any different?
