Of course, ask me again in a couple hours and this list will likely be completely different.
There is no reason to put forth any effort in composing a fantasy rock band because we actually had the greatest in the Beatles, the most creative, innovative and influential rock band of all time. Sure there may be better guitar players (I’m partial to Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn), bass players (flea gets my vote) and many better drummers (Jeff Porcaro leads my list) but collectively there were and are none better than The Beatles. And as vocalists and songwriters, no one is even in the same league as Lennon-McCartney.
Drums- Louis Bellson
Lead Guitar- Herman Li
Rhythm Guitar- Malcolm Young
Vocals- John Fogerty
Drummer from Sonic Youth
Lead Guitar-Page Hamilton
Guitar from QOTSA- Josh H.
The bass player from Critters Buggin
The key player from Delta 72
The singer from Eagles of Death Metal
hmmm…

Drums: Mike Porntoy (Dream Theater)

Vocals: Neal Morse (Spock’s Beard)
Bass: Christopher Wolstenholme (Muse)
Keyboard: Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree)
I think that would make a pretty good prog band.
Lead Singers- Jason Mraz/ Jacob Hoggard of Hedley/ Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls/ Enrique Iglesias (it depends on the song)
Drummer- Travis Barker of Blink 182
Lead Guitar- Jimi Hendrix
Backup Guitar- Buckethead of Guns N Roses
