Ok so I want to make fudge so I will have it tomorrow. I have already been to the store and I do not wish to return again tonight. So I have all my ingredients but it calls for ¾ cup of butter and all I have is sweet cream no salt butter. Is that okay to use for fudge. I need help I really have a craving for fudge so I will greatly appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Are you going to use this fudge for fun exciting sex? (I was looking at your topics.) Let me know how it goes!

sjmc1989's avatar

No. I thought about it but licking it off of someone would be dangerous because it scalding hot and we don’t want any privates burned off. There goes all my fun. Damn!

Seriously though I did that as a topic because a lot of people have that as a field of expertise so my question would go to more people. I was desperate!

@sjmc1989 Privates burned off would be bad! and the sweet cream no salt butter should work out fine.

sjmc1989's avatar

@Narl No thats not good for anybody. :) Thanks! They are cooling now. As soon as I try one I’ll tell you how it is and send some your way.

My wife the fudgemaker says use what you have, but add salt

Next time the Eagle Brand condensed milk fudge-so easy and always works. You can add nuts or cherries, no problem.

I never use salted butter for anything. Unless the recipe calls for salted butter, unsalted is the way to go.

And my fudge is awesome.

make sure you just use real butter. not margarine. not crock stuff. nothing in a tub. no butter substitute. butter is all natura, salted or not. anything else is plastic. seriously.

Here is a recipe that uses sweet cream and no butter

Cream Fudge
Four cupfuls brown sugar
One-fourth cupful corn syrup
Two cupfuls sweet cream (omit if you don’t wish to add)

Put all the ingredients into the kettle, put over the fire, and stir constantly. Put the thermometer in when it begins to boil, and see that the bulb is entirely covered.
Move the thermometer, and stir all over the bottom of the kettle to prevent burning. When the thermometer registers exactly 234°, remove the kettle from the fire,
and keep beating with the spoon until the syrup begins to get creamy and thicker, add the vanilla, and turn out on the marble slab on an oiled platter. When it begins to harden, mark it off in squares.

And I thought I was the only one in the world that thought fudge was sexual.
