Need some ideas what to buy my Mother-in-law for Christmas...
Is anyone else struggling with ideas for Christmas presents for family and friends this year?
I got the kids / grand-kids / neices and nephew (hey toys are easy to pick!) pressies no problem, but am having a bother finding the right pressie for my Mum in law (I mean where can you buy barbed wired slippers these days lol).
I got a chocolate coin making machine for one grand-daughter – that’s gonna be cool fun! and a smoothie maker for my 5 year old grand-daughter – designed for kids of course! lol. So gonna be making smoothies and coins till middle of next year I think! (unless the novelty wears off real quick wich it tends to do with kids dont it?)
So looking for ideas…...........
Heyilp.!

If you find a supply of barbed wire slippers, please let me know. I would LOVE to get a pair for my MIL. Last year, I got her a barbed wire shaper…..the slippers would complement the ensemble.
Sounds like all the other gifts were well thought out! Good job! & Merry Christmas
Does she have hobbies such as gardening? If so, a book or a gift certificate to a catalogue is great.
I always go for a scarf- but a really nice one.
Some people appreciate the second-hand stuff when it’s in a good condition, and then you can give her a nice label (like Hermès, Ferragamo, Dior, etc…). Though that would depend on her taste and style, if she is even a sqaure scarf-admirer.
Hmmm…gloves? tea set? Italian coffee maker? a selection of imported teas?
Maybe you could tell us a bit about her; what’s her taste? what does she enjoy?
A flu preparation/survival kit!
@Marina @lamedb – She’s not really a gardener, she does like flowers and regularly buys fresh ones for the house, I was thinking of a fancy vase or wee pruning kit but it seems a little lame to me. I think I may be trying to over think it. A scarf sounds good. .............I can wind it tightly round her neck…...................lol only kidding!!!
@scotsbloke O dear… You could just get a rope and have her believe it’s a scarf…
I like the idea of something that goes with her interests. Depending on the money you have to spend, you could get a great pruning set, some frogs, some glass beads to hold flowers and a vase.
Or perhaps send her flowers once a month for a year.
