Why doesn't Netflix make all of their movies available for instant?

Asked by Fallstand (1130points) December 11th, 2009

Wouldn’t this save them money as far as shipping, paper, discs, employees, etc?

It is what the studios want.

Am I the only one who thinks that most of NetFlix movies are second rate?

@SirGoofy

I think most of the instant movies available are second-rate. Otherwise, you can get almost any movie you want, on the day that the DVD comes out.

I do think their Blu-Ray selection is rather subpar though.
