Have you ever had an experience that you thought was going to be wholly unpleasant that ended up being pretty swell?
Last night there was someone with a really nice system bumping outside of my apartment at 11 something at night and I pulled a crazy old lady move and went out to ask them to turn it down. I usually would never say anything but it was so loud I felt like I opened a club in my room. I hate confrontation and being a debbie downer but I actually ended up in the back seat sharing a bowl with the dudes who turned out to be really cool.

I think the term “crazy old lady move” should be reserved for crazy old ladies…which I doubt you are. Good for you for hanging out for a bit.
Frankly, when I saw the flood of new members coming in from Answerbag, it brought back memories of several painful migrations from other troubled sites in the past, and I thought, “Oh shit, here we go again”. But I must say that the ABers seem to be a perfectly lovely crew, and I’m beginning to get excited about all the great new jellies.
@nope I think you are correct, thanks for the correction
I thought going to college was going to suck, at least freshman year. Turns out it didn’t and I had no trouble finding my niche.
@Harp I’m glad we’re exceeding your expectations. One of the reason so many of us are so upset is that we had a pretty tight community with a lot of cool people.
Riding a rollercoaster for the first time.
drunken sex is sort of like that your beer vision can tell you one thing but when woken up in a sober state it may be a whole nother thing all together
but the great part is when the beer goggles are on and you wake up and it is a lot nicer now that is a pleasant experience worth noting
@erichw1504 I’m glad you enjoyed it, roller coasters are a blast and I think a lot of people never get to know that because they’re too scared to try them.
@global_nomad Nice! My freshman year was the same way. I was excited but not very and then I had an amazing time.
I like that you said the word “swell”.
:D
Yes but if you don’t smoke weed it wouldn’t have been swell Beav..I would have called Eddie Haskel’s pop and got him to move.
WARNING, NSFW. (I’m fresh from AB and did read the guidelines, but do I really have to mark it that obviously if I’m about to say something mature?)
I’m a lesbian, and my girlfriend talked me into letting her do me in the butt with the strap-on. Lmao. I always frowned at the idea, and I must admit that it wasn’t delightful, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated.
Sure. I imagine everyone has had that experience.
@stemnyjones I appreciate the NSFW so I hope you keep it.
When my husband got transferred to Northern California, I was really afraid I would hate it, but I loved our house, and have never regretted moving here. The only time I feel it is during traditional family gatherings that we can be there for. The rest of our family lives in San Diego, and I do miss them.
It’s getting better now that my oldest grandson has moved in with us, and my youngest son is married and has given me two new grandsons.
@thriftymaid, I have to say that it’s kind of hilarious that you made your comment right after the comment made by @stemnyjones. :)
@eeveegurl lol I usually am teased for using nostalgic words so I’m glad you liked that. :)
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Hi, glad to see you here. The short answer is all you need, college is such a fresh start, new friends, new interests. Its so easy to enjoy oneself. Will you be using both sites or are you only using Fluther now?
@stemnyjones haha I’m from AB to and I did not read the terms and conditions so I’m not sure how strongly they are enforced but it was nice of you to follow the rules (for now anyway :P)
That’s kind of how I felt about a similar experience – I don’t know if I’d do it again but I don’t regret the experience. Thanks for sharing!
@YARNLADY I’m glad you liked your new home, moving can be scary, I’m moving in a month or so and I’ve got a lot of mixed feelings. I’m glad that your grandson has moved in with you having family close by always makes things a little brighter.
@nope lol I laughed at that, too, as I read through the responses
@nope Laughing here. Some things you just can’t plan. Kind of like back in school during roll call when someone’s last name is Screws.
