Orphan just means no one has replied to them.
yes i know that but answering them will only give an answer to the one submited(informing him in the “Activity for You” it and not react with the community
It will get noticed. Orphan questions are often the ones where no one has yet had the proper expertise, so you are doing the community a big favor by answering. It may not start a discussion, but you will have solved someone’s problem, and that’s one of the reasons we are here.
You also can earn awards not to mention lurve!
Questions and answers show up on google so you might end up helping someone who is searching for just that answer. You’re helping someone.
People also follow questions (viz. the person who asked it, especially if it hasn’t been answered yet). They will see that you replied. And if you are in others’ Fluthers, those people will see that you answered, and they will (I believe) be notified. So discussions can still begin on orphan questions.
A discussion is certainly more likely if someone answers, after all. If no one answers then… :[ By answering you at least give it a chance.
I think of orphans like those little scrunched up, overcooked French fry nublets that are at the bottom of the carton…they need love too! I try to answer them whenever time and relevance permits.
@sndfreQ Those nublets are the best bits!
It also does go to the top of the active list.
