Is 27 too young to have a mid-life crisis? I mean what if I only live to 50?
Lately I feel like there is a need to get a “red sports car” and do some pillates or something. It’s as if I am going through a mid life crisis and I dont know what to do or why it would hit me so young? Any advice?

Get your car, take a Pilates course, have fun and forget about labeling your activities.
Im 28 and I feel the same, I started University last year I felt it was time to shake things up 30 is looking way too close, Although I had kids young so It my time. Maybe its a ¼ life crisis I felt really weird when I turned 25. I got nostalgic. I wonder if it because the world has changed so fast since the 80s so when we look back it all looks so different.
I’m laughing! I’m 43 and I’ve had a mid life crisis a few times. Alot of people I know had one in their late 20’s (including me)! It seems like they hit when there is a crossroads in your life or you are rethinking what to do with your life. Its perfectly normal.
It’s like john mayer said- a quarter life crisis
You are craving change. There is nothing unusual about that.
Don’t think of it as a crisis. Think of it as a time to grow and learn something new.
I have never looked at it as crisis, it is just a desire to enjoy life. LOL A time to shake things up a bit, your creative bone giving you a nudge. You reach stages of maturity (mentaly) where you are free to explore the world a bit more. =) Nothing to be worried about and don’t consider it a crisis, consider it a great time in your life!! =)
20’s, i’ve always though, are the time when you do get the red car first. Midlife crisis is when you realize your getting old and miss those years when you had the car. so this is totaly normal from my point of view. not a crisis at all
You are not having a mid-life crisis at 27. That doesn’t mean you are not having a personal, identity, career, or some other kind of crisis.
Call it an existential crisis, start dressing all in black and listening to emo music, and write bad poetry about how isolated you are. Pretty soon you’ll feel so ridiculous that you’ll only be able to laugh at yourself, and then you’ll feel better!
I think mid life is probably any age between childhood and the final breath. The urge to make a change can and does occur several times throughout our life.
I’m 27 and im having it too. I’m realizing there’ll probably not be any nobel prize, and im loosing my hair and getting fat if i dont excercise.. So are alot of my friends. I think 27’ish is the first time you start to realize that you are going to die one day.. So yes, in my demographic atleast i’d say it’s normal, as people have suggested just roll with it..
That’s not really a midlife crisis, since you’re too young to have one. At your age, it would be called a quarter life crisis.
@samara I just turned 25 this year and I’m having an age crisis (don’t laugh, y’all). That was when I realized that I wasn’t part of the young generation anymore, and that I could no longer relate to all these kids who text each other all the time.
