Is there a way I can see my computer passwords when they are covered by asterisks?
I can’t seem to figure out my password for a particular site – the one which is “saved” doesn’t work, but is covered by asterisks so I can’t see it. Is there a program I can download which can “uncover” these asterisks?

No, but you can probably reset the password for that website pretty easily.
If you’re on a Mac launch Keychain Access (just search for it with Spotlight, the search thingy in the top right). If you can find the password/website in the list (you can search for it again this time in the application search in the top right of the window) you can double click the password you want in the list to open the details and then click the checkbox that says “Show password” you’ll be prompted for your Mac OS X login password then it will show you the password!
If you’re on Windows, I’m afraid smarter people will have to help you.
I’ve used this freeware site to get tons of useful utility programs. One of these might be capable of unmasking passwords.
This will help.

If you are unsure of how to use a bookmarklet just ask and I will walk you through it. It should work in any browser.
I just copy it then paste it into Word—bingo!
Without special software you will onlly be seeing the ********.
If there’s a complex password, I will often type it into the Run box, and then copy, paste it into the password box.
Thanks for all the advice! I like the “View Passwords” bookmark best….totally easy!
