Is what happened to Silvio Berlusconi karma?

Collapsed under the burden of his extravagent lifestyle. The Italians have been searching for a “cult of personality” ever since they hung Mussolini. Haven’t found one yet.

I don’t condone it, but it is not the first time. Last time he got a mike stand in the head. He has done nothing but damage the credibility of Italy and the legitimacy of their democracy.

The guy who did it might have mental issues, but this was an act of anger aimed at the president. An anger, shared by many.

Maybe it is a bit like @stranger_in_a_strange_land says. Italian democracy is a European phenomena. There are many things that are kafkaesque in that country, and so much that are so wonderful. Sometimes, though, I suspect Italians just want to be amused.

Karma in spades….. perhaps he was on Mrs Berlusconi’s payroll!

I don’t know if it’s karma but I saw the footage and it was pretty damn disgusting, there was blood everywhere, apparently he lost two teeth and broke his nose. I guess people just really hate him…

I have spent enough time in Italy and around Italians to know pretty well why he’s hated. I was shocked and surprised that they elected him again after the things he did the first time around (and which they complained about heartily). So, it’s kind of their fault for electing him for this term, but I can see why they hate him.
