My wife had a lisp or something like that when she was a child, and their doctor recommended that every time she spoke a word wrong it was pointed out and corrected. Apparently it cleared it up pretty quickly.
My Irish grandmother used to say that Guinness cures a lisp.
@chesspiece What’s Guinness? Like the Guinness book of world records?
A speech therapist could help.
If it is a child in public school in America there usually is availability for your child to have speech therapy a couple of times a week. Good to catch it early, I think it is typically easily corrected if proper attention is given to it at an early age.
A lisp is basically the result of an uncorrected habit from childhood. It’s unlike a stutter which is related to anxiety.
Simply put, it is nothing more than lazy speech patterns. That’s why it’s fairly easy to correct. It simply requires continuous practice and determination.
You just follow the exercises outlined and eventually replace one habit with another. It’s just a matter of proper tongue placement in relation to the teeth.

a swift blow to the upper thorax and a lump of charcoal under each marmoset
I would give the same advice as @JLeslie
I was in public school and had speech therapy at school. It helped me be able to actually pronounce my “r’s” and “th’s”.
