I have a Kindle2 and I want to put music on it, but I don't know how, or how to make an mp3, any advice?

Asked by MrBr00ks (1752points) December 14th, 2009

I have never converted cds into mp3 files. Can you do that with windows media? I am a little suspicious of going to sites I don’t know to find the free software, because I don’t know which ones are trustworthy. Can anyone help? Has anyone else put songs onto a Kindle2? Thank you for your time.

I would use iTunes, honestly. It will rip your CDs onto your computer so you can put them on your Kindle. You can also use Windows Media for the same purpose.

I have a Kindle1 so I use an SD card for audiobooks but Kindle2 lacks this. You just have a larger internal storage. So when you’re done ripping, drag the music files into the “music” folder (or whatever) onto your Kindle.

I don’t know, but I wanted to post this link which gives anyone with an amazon.com account a free download of the song from the Kindle 2 commercial – called Fly Me Away – and sung by Annie Little.

I absolutely love that song, and researched to find out who sings it, but it’s not available on iTunes.
The free download was such a pleasant surprise!!
