bottom line: I posted to get some information and I specifically said I wanted strictly informative responses. now under those circumstances, I think that any other sort of response counts as downright rude. then I check the button that says “reply was totally unhelpful”.

How do the political opinions of Fluther not factor into it? Asking for unbiased personal information about Bush around here is sort of like going to an anti-abortion rally and saying “Hey, does anybody know which abortion clinic in the area has the cleanest facilities?” Why would you even ask there? Honestly, forget “Reply was totally unhelpful.” Try “Question was completely out of place.”

And, by the way, I think “I think asking for no smartass answers to a question about Bush enthusiasts has pretty much guaranteed you won’t really get any answers at all” was a very helpful answer to this question. It’s a fair warning not to get your hopes up, since you’ve asked a(n admittedly really good) question in an inappropriate place to get good answers.

Golly, I have never heard any enthusiasts of G.W. Bush, so I am probably of no help either. Wait, that’s not true . . . if you send a letter to Mrs. Barbara Bush, c/o General Delivery, Kennebunkport, ME (you have to look up the zip), I bet she would be one of his biggest fans and could share a lot of information about the personal side of her son. But you run the risk that she doesn’t like him much either . . . wasn’t Jeb her favorite?

@Ria777: Have you seen W.? I found it to be a surprisingly fair and sympathetic portrayal of Dubya.

@MacBean: I didn’t have stratospherically high hopes of getting a decent reply. still, you can’t succeed if you don’t try.

as for W., yes, of course I know of it, and like I said, not interested in general sources, as I said. apart from that, while, obviously, all biographies involve certain amount of fiction, I wanted to steer clear of dodudramas and the like. (for one thing, I wouldn’t want the lead actor’s performance to bleed into the way that I wrote about the actual GWB.)

because I didn’t ask for it. my question had nothing to do with my political opinions, nor did I ask for others’. (if any of you have followed me on Fluther, you’d have guessed that, to make a massive understatement, I don’t deify the man.)

wrong analogy. I wanted to do more like find out, where can I find a yellow pages so I could look up the information myself. and BTW, quite a few conservatives hang out on Fluther. (or should I say, born again types who I tend to ID as politically conservative.)
