What is the etiquette pertaining to lurve?

I get what Lurve IS, but I’m not sure about the unspoken, unwritten rules. When should I mark an answer or question “great?” Only when it’s the best one? If I don’t mark it “great” how do I acknowledge the answer and show that I appreciate it?

Give as much or as little as you feel like.
Lurve answers because they’re informative or particularly correct, not because a person is your friend.
Often incredibly amusing answers are lurved.
Good questions are questions that are informative and need to be asked. I often lurve questions that make me think: “Oh. I’ve always wondered that one.”
Lurving the snowflake thing, though, a few questions down is… uh… wtf?
@eeveegurl Thank you! That’s just the kind of answer I was looking for!
Each person has his own standards. Some people are quite generous with their lurve, giving out several GAs on any given thread. Others are more “stingy” only giving lurve to questions and answers that are extremely insightful and really stand out. There’s no one right answer. It’s up to you!
Lurve is given freely….don’t put too many rules around it, just give GA when you think it’s a great answer, give GQ when you think it’s a GQ, simple as that.
I’m not sure myself, but if you’re from AB, I think the Lurve here is significantly less dramatic or important than the AB points were.
@Symbeline I was just there poking around, someone who calls themself “Flutherite” was posting stuff about AB-ers being too free with it, I asked this question here to see if there were those who agreed with her (him?) There don’t appear to be any.
The correct etiquette is clicking the “Great Answer” button 1000s of times next to my name.
@missyb Yeah I saw that same question. It’s pretty lame, i mean do people even care anyways. Whether or not it was an actual Flutherite I can’t say, there’s bound to be tard apples everywhere, however generally, I don’t think the Lurve is really all that important here.
That’s funny, I don’t get what lurve is – but I know the ettiquette.
:-)
@Symbeline lurve for tard apples. I about spit my coffee out when I read it! :)
I like to give lurve to helpful answers or answers that make me want to spit my drink out. ;) I’ll give lurve to questions that I think were well thought out or serious questions that are very personal to the OP.
It really is as simple as it sounds. GA for great answers, GQ for great questions. What makes a question or answer great is up to each individual to decide. The only place that most Flutherites really go hog wild with the lurve is during the 10k celebratory threads.
Be excellent to one another, and PARTY ON DUDES!!!
