What on earth are you people doing during the day?

Asked by CMaz (26313points) December 15th, 2009

Ok, some of you are on the other side of the earth. So it is night time and you are home.

But you Americans, including me.
What are you doing to have so much access to Fluther during your daily routine?

Ok, I have a cushy job. Most of my day is contemplating staying at the desk or going to the couch.
What are the rest of you all doing?

I fluther in between patients in my office. :-)

RocketSquid's avatar

I work in a call-in helpdesk, so I multi-task.

zephyr826's avatar

I fluther during my prep period. (grins sheepishly)

azlotto's avatar

I’m self employed and all I have to do is make a few decisions a day.

Cruiser's avatar

I multi-task during phone calls with customers like I am doing now! Much of my day is on the phone where I can read posts and quickly jot out replies or take a breather and respond with more in-depth answers if desired.

I have an office job, too. I study stuff and switch back and forth, but I can’t study for a long time because I have ADD and literally get bored and want to do something else just because. It’s bad.

deni's avatar

im studying for my final that is in 9 minutes. im not getting very far because i cant get the hell off here, damn it.

Poser's avatar

I normally don’t Fluther during the day. But I’m being lazy today.

ParaParaYukiko's avatar

I’m a digital art student, so I spend a lot of time at the computer. It’s a nice break from my tedious schoolwork :D

jonsblond's avatar

I’m a stay-at-home mom. I sit down for a few minutes to fluther, get up and do house work, sit for a few, yada yada yada.

MissAusten's avatar

I’m a stay at home mom, so I pop into the office throughout the day when I need a break. For example, I just finished organizing, scrubbing, and mopping the kitchen while keeping a 4 year old entertained at the same time. I earned some Fluther time, darn it!

And most of the time sometimes I use Fluther to help me procrastinate.

I have an office job that provides half my income, all my insurance, and requires next to none of my time. So I spend all day booking other jobs and working on freelance writing assignments while fluthering.

Rude_Bear's avatar

I work from 3 am till whenever.. usually 11 am. This helps me decompress before bed time.

J0E's avatar

During school I’m on a computer pretty much all day, so I Fluther while I’m doing other things. Right now I’m on Winter Break so I have all day to Fluther if I want.

It’s a wonderful life, I know.

I trade currencies so I look on here while waiting for the asian market to open or for trades to shake out

icy's avatar

i work and online stuff in between clients.

syz's avatar

I have a window open while I work and pop in occasionally.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@syz Same here. I sit in an office for most of my day and I figured, as long as I finish the day having done all the work I am supposed for that day, a little fluthering won’t hurt!

ItalianPrincess1217's avatar

I lost my job after a car accident so I’m home all day. Fluther keeps me busy. And sane :)

gemiwing's avatar

I’m a housewife so I use Fluther as a reward. In between mopping, sweeping, wiping, vacuuming, organizing, dusting, scooping, and having cups of coffee to wake up

deni's avatar

70 minutes later i should be studying for another final…..alas, i am not.

Schlepping misaddressed Christmas cards and large parcels.

It’s a lot like this, actually: http://xkcd.com/303/

erichw1504's avatar

I fluther my way through the day at work while I am doing nothing, which is about 75% of the time.

erichw1504's avatar

@LC_Beta That is one of the greatest xkcd’s.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

I’m Fluthering instead of studying.

sakura's avatar

I fluther when no one else in house, and I only work 3 days a week so other 2 days are usually on here in between planning lessons and housework!
And weekends I jump on whenever the computer is free!

LC_Beta's avatar

@erichw1504 I definitely agree, especially since waiting for query criteria codes to compute feels like half of what I do.

tinyfaery's avatar

Work

I’‘m bad.

Jeruba's avatar

I’m retired. And busy. I’m not here continuously, but I pop in and out, so I guess it looks that way.

casheroo's avatar

I’m a stay at home mother, who goes to college with online courses. The internet is vital to my day. for school and for sanity purposes.

MacBean's avatar

Due to health issues, I’m mostly homebound. I pretty much only leave the house for doctor’s appointments. Fluther is an awesome time-filler.

Jude's avatar

I work during the day, but, keep a window open and Fluther (when really I should be working).

cookieman's avatar

I work ten hours-a-day as a graphic designer, in a comfy little office…alone. I poke in and out all day between projects.

downtide's avatar

My work pattern involves working some weekends in return for random days off mid-week, and I also work later hours than most people (later start and finish). I’m not allowed to use the internet at work though.

Aster's avatar

I’m the same as @jonsblond .

jonsblond's avatar

Hi @Aster! Just taking a minute to visit Fluther. Thought I’d say hello. ;)

Aster's avatar

Hi @jonsblond ! How ya doin’ ?
