Do you have specific things that you always request when making a hotel reservation?
Are there things that you specify you must have or a preferred room location when you make reservations. For example, some people only want a room on an upper floor, not near an elevator, etc.

No the room location is no big deal for me. The only thing I ever request is that housekeeping leave extra coffee.
Top floor corner room. Two queen beds.
Extra towels.
Not near elevator or stairs. No smoking.
And, if it is not up to snuff I will ask for another room.
Side note:
You would be surprised what you find looking between the mattresses.
No, the free towels and mini shampoo bottles are plenty enough.
My wife and i are both smokers and we request a smoking room. we ask for a kingsize bed and extra pillows, since we both have had neck surgery and extra pillows help to support our necks, while watching television.
No Smoking. Nothing else matters.
It must have a coin operated vibrating bed.
Non-smoking, near the ground floor, extra towels, pillows, and an ironing board. (Gosh all together that sounds a bit…kinky.)
The only request I ask is to get more towels from housekeeping
I don’t even ask for no smoking anymore, since most rooms are anyway. A king sized bed is nice, mainly because the other option is a double and they’re too short.
About 50 extra pillows, because the ones they usually have are about as thin and floppy as a sheet of anorexic paper.
If it is a beachside resort I always request a balcony around the fifth floor over looking the water.
I always request towel animals, yet it never happens. :(
I only asked for something special once. And that was when I was traveling with twins that were two years old. I asked for a room that was as far away from others as possible. That was to save the sanity of others that might be unfortunate enough to be within screaming baby distance.
I like a big swimming pool.
Non smoking, King Size Bed. I don’t spend a lot of time in the room so not much else matters to me. I agree with @Cognition above that if it’s at the beach a balcony is important.
Non smoking, the temptation is just too much for me.
Non smoking for me, as well. If there isn’t an iron, I ask for one. We usually end up getting extra towels and coffee refills.
That the Chamber-Maid dress up as a French Maid. I usually ask for any dead hookers to be removed from my room prior to my arrival.
Hot woman, cold Champagne!
@ChazMaz That sounds like what I ask for. Oh I shudder to think what one might find between the mattress and box spring. But one time we wondered why the bed was so hard. The people who had the room before us had them put a board under the mattress! That was horrible.
@erichw1504 We always ask for more pillows too. Most of the time they’re pretty thin for sure. I even don’t like the “crunchy” pillow cases they have sometimes. It’s like they starched them or something.
A hotel with no swimming pool usually has fewer children and more silence.
bottom floor please! about it Barb! oh, King Size bed!
I had no idea people were so picky.
Hey Snarp, i’ve have a bad hip, so i don’t want to walk very far…and i’m very big guy, so i need a king size bed! and, others here probably had requested based on some reason!
All things being equal I like a nice view.
Door directly to the outdoors if available, most recently redecorated, ground level or second floor, extra towels, extra coffee. After I check in I ask for blankets straight from the laundry closet (I don’t trust the ones in the room to be clean).
Definitely no smoking. That’s a deal-breaker.
If I know I’m not going to be sharing with anyone, I request a single king-size bed instead of two double beds. I like the extra room. :-)
I usually just as for a non-smoking room, but I am going to start asking for the most recently decorated one and for blankets straight from the laundry closet now that I have read @thriftymaid‘s post.
Non-smoking room and a king size bed.
