With so many questions being posted, how long do end up "following" each question?

For me, in the last couple a days, my average has been about 5 minutes, unless, it’s something that I find truly interesting. The interesting questions I continue to follow because I want to read what others have to say (and am hoping for a good discussion).
In the past, it would’ve been a few days, usually more.

I’ve stopped following most of them because of all the traffic. Too much for me! Especially when it turns to a slew of inside conversations not pertaining to the question that I thought should be discussed in the chatroom instead.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s wonder for fluther to grow.
I had to change my fields of expertise so that I don’t get questions for me at all.
I only answer those that really interest me.
I stop following usually after I have given all my input and/or I just simply don’t care about it anymore. Also, when it has gone completely off topic for the past 10 or so answers.
I don’t “manage” the questions I follow. I follow them forevermore… unless one has become particularly boring and traffic laden for me. That’s only happened maybe 5 or 6 times.
It’s not unusual to see something new come across on a 6 month old thread… and interesting at that.
Also, I never stop following a question that I have asked unless I really don’t care for it anymore. That’s probably only happened with about 3 or 4 questions.
It depends on whether I am still interested in the discussion.
I’m with @robmandu. I hardly ever quit following. I’m spending more time following my activity now with all the new users and less time on the questions for me.
Unless something in a thread seriously upsets me or pisses me off, I follow FOREVAH.
I’m finding it hard to keep up with all the traffic here and the busy-ness of my life right now so I am “stop following” sooner than usual.
Just long enough to read the current answers.
I also find it annoying when a question is ‘hijacked’ with loads of comments/answers that have lost the plot of the question. That can be done on the comment thread on your profile, in my opinion.
I’m new so I’m following the majority of the questions I answered. I’m still learning and trying to build up ‘profiles’ of the members here.
@Confuscious I’d like to reiterate that using the small print formatting helps keep the side comments identifiable and then you can ignore them if you want to stick with the main thread. That seems to have been lost a bit with the influx but it usually works very well for us.
@janbb That does sound like it can work very well. Didn’t know that.
Maybe when the dust has settled a bit that will be enforced again. Thank you for responding.
@Confuscious You can start doing it yourself. See formatting at the bottom of the answer box. Maybe it will spread. :-)
