Have you as a Fluther "Old-Timer" been properly thanked?
I’m new here and one of a flood of refugees from a horrible old place (that shall not be named) and I want to thank you for making me feel welcome here. I try not to speak for others but I think I can say that we ALL appreciate the hospitality that most of you have shown. Sooooo, THANX! And let’s be friends.

Yes…your hospitality is greatly appreciated, Flutherite-who-was-here-before-me!
Seconded. Thank you Flutherites for making me feel so welcome here, I understand it may have been annoying at times. Thanks for helping us to learn the culture.
This is the very last time I will refer to myself as a former ABer, from her on out I will call myself a Flutherite. :-)
LOL… “horrible place”. Great question though, and I have to agree. I would also like to thank everyone here who was here before us for being so welcoming. We did have a flood of refugees from another site come to ours once too, so we know how it feels. Thanks again.
At the risk of becoming an irritation with all this AB talk all the time, thank you again for making us feel welcome here. Appreciate it very much. Couldn’t have been easy for you guys, but you’ve been very graceful in accepting us into your midst.
Yeah yeah you all know how I feel, aren’t people sick of hearing about AB haha. XD
What is AB and who brought it up?
Speaking for just myself, yes. Now grab a drink out of the fridge, kick off your shoes and put your feet up on the coffee table and relax. You’re home.
I don’t know if I’m considered an “old-timer”, I’ve only been here a year. I have witnessed 3 migrations to the site and I am amazed by the kindness from the majority of the AB refugees. Thank you!
Welcome to all. I’ve only been here for less than a year, and this is the second swarm of “immigrants” from another site that I’ve seen. The way I see it, each individual is still an individual, with a life experience that is different from mine. By sharing this experience we can (hopefully) each learn a little about ourselves and about this greater experience we call life.
Again, Welcome, All!
This migration has been the best out of all of them. We should be thanking you.
I, too am amazed at the smoothness of this migration. With most of the past influxes (some of) the new users seemed to just want to complain about how they would change fluther.
Our current refugees seem to be (on the whole) intelligent, level headed, and capable of correct grammar and spelling. That goes a long way in my book.
Welcome again.
@johnpowell I think it helps when they hate the place they are leaving.
You’re welcome and it’s nice to have new faces and questions and opinions.
I’ve been around for about a year too… by no means an old timer. But i’ve witnessed 3 migrations too and this has been the smoothest transition. I like the new Jellies.
You former ABers make it easy to be welcoming. You’re so enthusiastic and there’s so little complaining about how Fluther isn’t just like AB was (when you still liked it). It’s quite nice, really. :)
I’ve been around a bit over a year m’self, I was a migrant at one time too. I’m thrilled with the new blood, you’re making the site far more active and enjoyable. I appreciate the thought, I’m glad people around here are helping make you feel at home. I’m sure you’ll all enjoy it here and before you know it, some future group of migrants will be thanking you and you’ll think, just when did I become an old timer?
I’m not sure if I technically count as an old-timer either, but I’ve been here for a little over a year. Like others have mentioned already, it’s nice to see some new people. Questions are going to become more varied, and far less questions will be “orphaned”, too. Variety is the spice of life, and I welcome all of you. :)
I have also enjoyed the new members. And I am an “old-timer.” You are welcome here.
I spend about ⅓ of my time here on the lookout for newbies – in order to eat welcome them and give them some starter warnings tips – if they ask for it. Why? Because I can. And I was made to feel welcome when I came – by Augustlan, JP, Zebra and a few others. A special comment from Andrew made me feel special (about 9 months ago) and I am reciprocating, shall we say.
Welcome.
We’re all immigrants from somewhere, just some more recent. :)
I come from the land of the ice and snow…
You’re welcome. I came to Fluther from nowhere. It was my first. and will be my only, Q&A site. But I have seen waves of migration from several sites.
This one is one of the smoothest. Most of the people who have come are reasonable and lively and kind.
On board with the new crew, too.
Y’all are so doggone happy about nearly everything. It’s infectious. And if I’m sick, I don’t want to get better.
Welcome to you guys! I’m glad you’re here.
Oh yes – it’s been a real Lurve fest around lately. A bit overwhelming at times, but we’re enjoying the newbies a lot!
NO! Nobody likes me. Everybody hates me. And I’m going to go eat some worms! Hmmph!
Hey…good luck with that. I heard they taste like chicken worms.
Aww, shucks. Thanks all. I migrated from nowhere. Fluther was my first and only.
I’m not a true old timer (I’ve been here a year and a half), but fluther is my home and you are all welcome.
I’ve got a strange amnesia. Answerwhat?
I would like to spread the Holiday Cheer and say thanks for letting me in the door! Now where is the buffet table???
@Cruiser It’s right past the bar. See it?
@janbb Thanks!! I would have never noticed anything past the bar!!
@Cruiser @janbb – Welcome to both of you…there is cake on the pool table. Careful with the felt, please.
@Corporate_Avenger Cake on a pool table is a dangerous combo for me and I would not be playing pool. I hope the felt is washable!
That’s where cupcakes come in handy!!
@Cupcake Cupcakes too?!! This place ROCKS!!
Cupcakes on the pool table and cake in the frizzer.
That’s what fluther’s all about!!
And Pancakes. Flutherites love pancakes!
