What were the traditional practices for Festivus?

Asked by Rude_Bear (882points) December 17th, 2009

Do you remember Festivus ( the holiday for the rest of us) from Seinfeld? George’s father came up with it as an alternative to the pressures of Christmas and Chanunaka. There were practices and traditions that went along with it, but I can’t remember them. Can you help a guy out?

@Rude_Bear – sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it? Are you going to celebrate Festivus? If so, you should totally post some pics!!

@Cupcake Not so much celebrating it, as using it to annoy a co-worker who’s been, shall we say, zealous in her celebration of another holiday.

Here’s one that was specifically for George: “Stop crying and fight your father!”. :-D

‘Round our house we celebrate “Festival of Zorton.” It starts on the first day of Chanukah and goes until New Year’s Day. Each day has a special activity associated with it; we have a tree, light candles, make up songs, give gifts, etc. It’s awesome and excites the hell out of our kids. Bonus.
