Can graduation robes be ironed?
I just got my graduation robe, and it is extremely wrinkly. I was wondering if then can be ironed, or if that will damage them. The tag doesn’t say anything about whether or not they can be ironed, or what type of fabric it is made of. Has anyone ironed one in the past? How did it turn out?

Take it to a cleaners. Most are to delicate, I wouldn’t chance it.
Have you tried hanging it in the bathroom while you take a nice, long, hot shower? That should shake some of the wrinkles. Beyond that, if you think it is delicate, you can always iron it between some other stuff—so, like, put a washcloth on top and iron away. That will let you iron without putting the heat source directly on the robes.
Edited to change: Um, obviously a washcloth is tiny and would make ironing difficult, but you see what I was doing there, yes?
If you use the Silk setting on the iron you should be ok. This is the lowest temp setting.
Another thing you can do is use a pressing cloth between the iron and the robe. You could use any fairly light material for a press cloth, even something like a pillowcase.
Yes, but do not apply the iron directly to the fabric, or it may melt. I placed my robe on the ironing board, covered the robe with a pillow case, and then applied the iron. This method effectively removed the wrinkles.
Update: I ironed the robe with some cloth between it and the iron, and it turned out great.
Thanks to all for your advice!
So when is your graduation?
Congrats.
