What holiday song gets you most in the "holiday mood"? N.B.: This doesn't necessarily mean your favorite!

I don’t speak more than notably limited Spanish, but “Feliz Navidad” puts me in the holiday mood more than anything else.
What about you?

My 7 year old daughter started singing Feliz Navidad to me the other day and when she got to the second “Feliz Navidad” I thought she was gonna stop, and I interjected “Yeah, that’s about all I know too” but she finished the line in perfect spanish! She really paid attention when the spanish teacher from the High School came to visit!
@Rufus – I really miss ELP. Last I heard, Keith was suffering from degenerative nerve disease.
Jingle Bell Rock and Winter Wonderland
I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas and It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas.
I am and it is. =)
Jingle Bell Rock by Brenda Lee does it for me. :)
Fairytale of New York – The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl
O Holy Night has always been one of my favorites,
now much more so because when I first heard the line “till He appeared and the soul felt it’s worth” I was like: “yeah, now the soul realizes it’s need for Jesus, and will repent…”
But it was years before it dawned on me that the true meaning behind that line was something like “Wow, now the soul realizes the price Jesus was willing to pay to redeem it!”
To use an outdated phrase from the ‘90s – talk about your paradigm shift! Now the song means so much more to me.
“Sleigh Ride” by Karen Carpenter. It’s overplayed on the radio, but it does get me in the mood.
I just listen to the Bach and Handel and try to ignore the commercial stuff.
This one brings me as close as I can get to any kind of ‘holiday spirit’.....( yes, I am an old curmudgeon, its a long story…)
All I want for Christmas is you, the Mariah Carey version. It is catchy and peps my mood, everytime. **smiles**
It Came Upon the Midnight Clear
@zephyr826 great song! (personally My favorite is the Rosemary Clooney version)
Carol of the Bells. Also this entire Chanticleer CD and this entire CD by Take 6. Oh man they are both so good! I used to HATE Take 6’s Christmas CD when I was a kid, but my mom played it so much that now it sounds like Christmas to me and I play it every year, too.
I like the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music. Of course only listen to then this time of year.
Two songs, both by Frank Sinatra: “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”. The latter, ironically, was introduced by Judy Garland in a non-Xmas movie called “Easter Parade”
