I’d guess that it’s because Universal Republic doesn’t sell records in the UK…

Yes lots. Mysterious Ways by U2 for example was no1 in the US but not the UK.

Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys

@grumpyfish
many other Universal Republic artists have mad the top 100 including taylor swift, lonely island, 3 doors down, jay sean, mika and Florence & The Machine

@Lightlyseared
my point is mysterious ways reached number 13 in the UK and U2 are massive in the UK but no body has even heard of owl city in the UK and they havent even made the top 100 even though they are huge in the states!

@cyndihugs
empire state of mind is currently number 16 in the uk charts and peaked at number 2

Thanks for your help though guy its appreciated so far =]

i think the reason Fireflies was even number 1 in the US is because of iTunes- i got that song for free during free music Tuesdays- i never would have discovered that song if iTunes didn’t offer it then- imo, the same thing happened with Ke$ha’s song Tik Tok- the music video for that was free on iTunes one Tuesday and shortly thereafter, it went to iTunes’ top 10 songs.
