When you leave home do you take everything?

Asked by Its_Andrea_Baaaaby (50points) December 18th, 2009

When your far from home does your love go too, or does it stay? Every child leaves home in some part of there lives, but do you really take everything with you when you leave?

When I left home I took everything with me. Had a big ass U-Haul carry my crap for 6 hours with me leading the way. Where I grew up will always be my home, but when starting a new chapter in my life I felt it was important to take everything that helped make my new apartment as comfy and welcoming as when living with my parents.

When I left my parents home, I took a garbage bag full of clothes and just ran. It was all on bad terms and I didn’t want to see/speak to them for a very long while. I moved to another state, leaving everything I knew and loved, friends included. When I met a guy and moved to California, I did it again. I had intentions of returning to my home, however, that’s not how it turned out. I decided to stay in California and once again had to start over.

When things are hard or you just need to get away, starting over is always a good thing. It’s hard, but definitely worth it.

I left home and moved back in a few times, but the last time, I took everything material. I actually had a period of withdraw where I visited, but when I got over what made me leave, I took my emotions and left with them, too.

You’re never really left home until your stuff is out of your parent’s basement/attic, and you’re no longer on their cell phone plan.

When I left my parents house I only had a little single room to live in, so I took just the essentials and left everything else behind. Once I got my own place, I collected the rest of it.

@PandoraBoxx – cell phones weren’t invented until many years after I left home. The first “mobile” telephone I saw was about 3 years later. It was an ordinary old household telephone bolted onto a large briefcase. The briefcase was the battery. The whole thing weighed about twenty pounds.

When I graduated from college and went into the Army most of my stuff went into boxes. Some of those boxes remain unopened 35 years later.
