I just found this website:

Can I download this program and record video from my games without registering on the site?

(I took a look at Fraps and found out that I can only record up to 30 seconds of video in the free version)

It’s still fun to have an account just for the sake of having an account, though. Fun little things like sigs that tell others stats you have for other games are worth the sign-up.
