You won’t cook if it’s comfortable enough to sit in. :)
But hot water can be very drying to your skin, so moisturize well afterwards, and try to limit the amount of time you spend in hot water.

I guess boiling point would be too hot.

You don’t want to be above 115 deg. You could Scald!

i dont think they would put a water outlet that in a shower that can be dangerous. couldnt u sew the people who built the house if it was like that?

ccrow's avatar

I would think if you can stand to be in it, it’s not too hot.
@iRemy_y Wha..?

It also depends how Hot you have the Water Heater set too.

If you can stand to sit in it—sober (and that’s important)—then you’re not going to “cook”.

However… there are a lot of potential risks of using hot tubs. I had thought that I knew something and I was just looking for a backup fact or two when I found this link, which tells more about real and potential dangers than I was going to type out.

Go with whatever you are comfortable with, if it eases your back pain then thats good ..no?

The thing which one cannot able to touch is hot.

@iRemy_y that doesn’t make any sense. The water comes from your water heater, which you set the temperature to, not the makers of the house.

Anything you are comfortable with should be fine. Too hot will just hurt, your body is pretty good at telling you when something isn’t good for it =)
If you start to feel lightheaded, you should probably stop though.

Your hot water heater can easily put out water that can burn you.

Take a look at this

And I’m going to assume that you are draining the cold water to make room for the new water.

It takes a long time for the water heater to get the water hot. So you are getting stuff that hasn’t been heated to the max temp yet.

well, my girlfriend put her hand under the tap and yelled,

I live in a apartment building so the water is usually really hot it steams when it comes out of the tap on full, and my apt is 20–30 deg Cel

so it might be too hot,

BATH: too hot is when you see steam
COFFEE: too hot is when it damages your tongue
FOOD: too hot is when you can’t tell good taste from bad taste

phil196662's avatar

I like yours @Sebulba can’t tast food if it’s too hot!

@bandit77 If you have a girl for me, or one we can share, I’ll be down from the Hartford area as soon as you give the word.

I think it’s relative to some extent; the temperature I like is way too hot for my husband. Also I think you can build a tolerance, if that’s the right term.
