Does tequila go bad?

Asked by syz (36034points) December 19th, 2009

I have a bottle of 1800 silver that’s been open for almost 2 years – should I save it or waste it?

Why’d ya let it stay open for so long? And no, I think it’ll be safe to drink.

alcohol is alcohol its a preservative

It will have lost some alcohol content, and the flavor may have changed a little, but it will probably still be enjoyable, and it is certainly not dangerous. But, remember, though tequila may not go bad, people who drink it sometimes do.

did the worm come back from the dead and is now swimming around in the bottle?
if not, most likely it’s ok to test on someone before you try it.

Just to be safe you should probably send it my way and I’ll run some tests on it to be 100% sure.

you’re welcome

It doesn’t taste very good – don’t know if that’s the age or the product.
