Does anyone know of a red wine that comes with a small bowl attached?

Asked by Blackberry (34189points) December 20th, 2009

All I know is that it’s a red wine with a small bowl attached to it. I know that’s not a lot to go on.

What kind of bowl?

filmfann's avatar

Just to verify…You don’t mean bow?

Could you clarify?

Really shitty wine in case you need to immediately vomit, hence the bowl?

Blackberry's avatar

Nope, not a bow, a small platic bowl attached to the neck of the bottle. : )

More context. Did you see this wine somewhere? Read about it? Someone tell you about it?

I’m sorry that’s all the information I have lol. My girlfriend is looking for it for her dad, she said he would collect the little bowls. I appreciate the help, it’s ok if no one knows, we’ll get him something else if we can’t find it.

Or we will just ask him, but gift giving is better when its a surprise you know lol.

Would your girlfriend’s mom know? That would keep the surprise element.

Another wild guess, in case he has a heavy accent – could it be “bull”.

Egri Bikaver wine from Hungary used to come with a little bull (as in cattle) attached. It’s been years since I bought any, not sure if they still do that.

I think it might be one of these, a “tastevin” link. And another link But I don’t know of any wine that comes with one attached. You might call a liquor store, or whatever you have in your state, that specializes in wines and ask them about it.

I’d say just buy a bottle of wine & attach a Tupperware bowl to it. ;-)

@jaytkay Is right and now I feel like an idiot, my girlfriends NJ accent had me believing she was saying ‘bowl’, when she was saying ‘bull’. Thank you everyone and sorry for the miscommunication.

Na prablum.

Ha! Bull not bowl. Search also for Egervin which was the name of the winery (state owned) that made Bull’s Blood under communism. It was popular in the 1970’s
FYI. The name (gross as it sounds) comes from the fact that this wine had a longer maceration period than other wines of the time, making it more “bloody”.
New regulations in 2005 dictated that the wine must contain all 10 varietals that have previously been used to make the wine. Shall I name them?

jaytkay's avatar

LOL! And I think it was actually Spanish red wine with the little bull. I was mixing it up because Egri Bikaver is Bull’s Blood in English.

Haha. Mmm I love Spanish wine! Give me a Rioja any day.

Lurve for Rioja!
