I’ve been out of the ocean for a LONG time, but I know I can count on the jellies to help me out.
Here’s the sich: kid number three, who is possibly the most accident-prone human, spilled hot red candle wax on our cream colored carpet. It’s not a lot, but it’s there and it’s making me crazy. I have tried the iron and bag/rag technique with pretty impressive results, but there is still a hint of pink left behind. I have used Goof Off, and again, I’ve had some success, but I still see pink. Any other suggestions?

If it is a natural pigment, an enzyme-based cleaner might help. If it is a chemical pigment, there may be guides that can tell you.
Removed be me for being incredibly off topic.
Oh yeah, I don’t want to get the landlord mad. Whew, he’s a freaking monster when he’s pissed.
How would I ever know if it’s a natural or chemical pigment?
I was hoping you could look at the candle ingredients.
Removed by me for being insensitive.
If there is wax left behind try some ice cubes so you can stiffen it and pick it off. If it is just stain I think the Bissel cleaning chemicals work well.
a warm iron and some parrafin
@strange1
Damb you!.........
I’m always late!
ice cube. freeze it and lift it off.
@Pazza lol im a carpet layer of old
@pdworkin Hey, that is what I said. I’m feeling left out.
Seriously people, I know we’re looking for multiple options here, but the Iron thing is a dead cert.
you can’t argue with a carpet layer!......
has no-one ever done batik fabric dying and ironed the wax out after? @Pazza thank you:)~
@JLeslie He said it with so much more elan
You can try to use pet stain remover – it works really well on all kinds of spill (not just pet related). Petco and Petsmart have Nature’s Miracle, it works well and won’t discolor most carpets (test first though, just to be sure)
@strange1, exactly what do you do with the warm iron and the paraffin?
