I’m talking months, maybe, longer. What was the reason?

i don’t think i can take a break, this site is worse than drinking… actually, it keeps me from drinking some nights (ok not really but almost!)
I took November 11th – December 11th off Fluther because I was in jail.
I try to stay away because I’m sure I am a Fluther addict, but alas, I cannot help having a little peek! I need help people, help!
Si, it can get boring at times and sometimes people are rude to me but hey life throws ya curve balls..the longest I’ve been off was probably 4 months?
The longest I lasted was 11 days. This was very recently. I would love to know how others have done it. besides being in jail, of course.
sorry @buster :(
I left for 6 months last year when I thought the comments would not have a privacy feature. Happily they put in privacy and all is awesome now.
I have. There were a few months when I stopped by once every two weeks or so, and then only for a few minutes. This was when I really needed to focus my efforts on school, and it paid off in the end.
Nope, I don’t have many other ways to spend my time.
I had to take a long hiatus because it was getting to be too much on top of my hours of schoolwork each day. It was difficult and I suffered from Fluther withdrawl for a while. I managed to stay sober for a good while, but now that I’m on break I’ve relapsed. I just couldn’t stay away…resistance was futile. :P
I’m Fluther-high as we speak
Yes. Why? Because I didn’t like it that much. Now I’m back and I seem to like it a little more than I used to. They’ve made some changes to the site, to the “zeitgeist”, shall we say, that seems to suit my temperament a little better than it used to. We’ll see. I may stick around, maybe I won’t. There have been a few sweethearts, people who I didn’t know previously, who have actually welcomed me back! I am grateful for that and it was a nice surprise, the place had seemed a little insular, a little closed off, to me before, not terribly welcoming. Anyway, that was nice. Though, I suspect I won’t be missed if I go. Then again, maybe I’ll stick around just to vex the people who could do without me. :) And I don’t think there are too many of those, maybe one or two. Or maybe I’ll stick around just to vex myself. I’m conflicted about all this. :)
Not directly from Fluther, but I do take computer breaks now and again. Once in a while I’ll take a “No Tech Weekend”.
I was on a break for around 3 months. Didn’t have a good reason. Just was busy with my job and Family life. Plus I switched phones so that through me off.
I had a routine with my iPhone.
Had to discover a new one with Droid.
No. And don’t you do it either @jmah.
@Facade! You have your fabulous self! You have a man that loves you and that you love, you have your dreams and ambitions and goals! You have your hair (and make up), I know that takes some time :). You really don’t have many other ways to spend your time? I find that hard to believe.
Yes. I actually was off Fluther for several hours today. I plan on taking about a seven hour break in about 45 minutes.
I got mad about some stuff that was said to me and some stuff that was going on. I intended to take a break for a couple of weeks to cool off, but I go out of the habit of visiting and got involved in other stuff. I was spending a lot of time on here (hours a day) and leaving suddenly freed up a lot of my time to work on other interests.
Eight months (or so) later I popped into the chat just to see if I still recognized anyone. I was surprised by how many people remembered me and how excited they were to see me again (which persuaded me to come back). However, now I fluther in moderation (I answer maybe a question or two per day) and I don’t (mostly) take things personally.
Fluther is my drug. I can’t stop for more than a day without suffering from withdrawal symptoms.
I took off most of the month of November because I wasn’t getting enough done. At first when I came back it didn’t feel the same. The questions felt stale and stupid, and I thought my addiction was cured. I stopped coming for a while. But actually when the ABers came, it really livened things up around here, and now I’m back in the habit!
I was a sporadic user for quite some time. Joined August ‘08, took a break until October, two days in November, a little in December… Sporadic visits until it was August again. :) Just got back from a break and was very productive… Much sold and listed on eBay! But it was time to come back so I did! Missed some stuff here that I’m not particularly sad that I did. ;)
I have noticed just lately the sudden absence of at least 3 or 4 who were regulars. I do wonder why they disappear, if something happened to them or they simply got tired of it?
It does have an addictive quality.
I did.
I just wanted to get outside more. Now that it always dark and raining I’m 110 percent.
I did
I’ve mentioned it several times :s
@tinyfaery, the plan was to take a little break to get things done. I’m not on as much, but, I find that I can’t go a day without checking in to this place. Jack Twist: “Fluther, I wish I knew how to quit you” ((no, I don’t).
I’m new here, so I have yet to think I need to leave this place for any reason until I am more familiar with the way it works. I would like to know who these regulars are that @rooeytoo mentions, though, just out of curiosity.
I went canoe tripping for a month and a half this summer, and when I got back, I don’t know, I tried to get back into Fluther, but for some reason I couldn’t. I don’t know why. Slowly and surely, though, I came back to full throttle.
Ooooo, Avvooooooooo!! :) You are back! Yay, good to see you :D
