I say a mug or a picture frame.

Or how about a subscription to the NRA?

What about a nice CD? Or, if you think all of the recipients have ipods, a prepaid download card.

Something you make.

Or something you regift. That’s pretty inexpensive too.

A good but inexpensive bottle of smooth wine (Half Mile Creek cabernet merlot 2008 or Casa Lo Matta Cabernet Merlot 2008 or Estio Tinto 2008). Attach a recipe for a good beef stew to use up the wine in case the receiver doesn’t drink wine.

Something home-baked always does the trick.

I just got a cute snowman bowl filled with wrapped chocolate candies, all tied in clear cellophane with snowflakes on it. I think it’s adorable.

I gave people a tin of cookies.

You could also think of a small collection of these kind of things.

@Cupcake i think that would be nice considering the lack of time.

Godiva chocolates? Bottle of wine? Decorative Santas and holiday candles also always go over big at our holiday party gift exchanges.

What is the budget?

An assortment of Christmas candy from the seasonal aisle in the store – a Reese’s tree, a Snickers soldier, a small bag of Christmas mix Jelly Bellies, a marshmallow Santa, etc. Put it all in a festive Christmas box. I would be positively delighted to open that!

I also like the movie ticket idea. Pretty much everyone goes to a movie every once in a while.

A gift card for Starbucks or some other coffee place. Almost everyone will use it.

I saw a desk or dresser caddy that would be ideal for anyone and it also serves as a charging station for a cell phone or I-pod… at Walgreens for just $9.99 !! Would make a great gift for ANYONE !

Scarves in neutral colors can do the trick, Starbucks or iTunes giftcards, brownies… or alcohol.

Any kind of basket gift set, perhaps. My dad does a grab-bag at work, and he got a breakfast gift basket with tea and all kinds of things in it. And he gave a martini shaker.

You can buy a whole package of Bic Pens for a dollar at the Dollar Tree.
