I have used it for over a year and I’ve lost 40 pounds.I love it and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to lose weight but who doesn’t want to go to the gym or hire an expensive trainer. My changing my eating habits and doing the Wii fit at least 45 minutes a day I’ve noticed an improvement in my health as well as my wifes. Shes lost alot of weight as well and looks VERY sexy if I do say so myself:)

After many years as an almost total couch potato, I satrted using Wii Fit a year ago. I was lucky enough to be at normal weight when I started, and haven’t lost weight, but have toned muscles and am doing pushups for the first time in my life. I’m not as consistent with it as I was in the first few months, but am still using it at least a couple times a week and can see myself continuing.

I do recommend it to some of my patients if they can afford the initial investment and have reasons why a gym or dance class won’t fit into their lifestyle.

Well, that’s awesome that you guys were able to benefit using Wii fit! But in my opinion, I don’t like it. I barely use my wii fit. I haven’t lost weight on it, but I used to go on it just to check my weight everyday as I worked out on my own.

I think I only never used it was too close to the tv, and I had a dumb reason like “I don’t want to hurt my eyes being too close to the screen” and I guess I just like to get out… jogging outside, going to the gym, swimming in a pool, or just working out on my treadmill, elliptical or do my routine in my basement.

But yeah, that’s cool how it can help so many people. I don’t really like the wii in general though. I probably would recommend the wii fit to people who do not like to get out for exercise or spend a lot of money at gyms and such.

My Dad has one and he is losing weight. He is older and actual ski jumping isn’t something he’ll be doing anytime soon so that is fun for him. Also he is a Marine and you’d be hard pressed to see him ever try yoga, but sure enough he’s doing it on the wii. I think the best part is that it has gotten him more active in general, I mean he wakes up early each morning to go for a swim, which is an amazing feat for a guy that hates to exercise.

It totally depends on your fitness level and what you want out of it… I find that I need high impact aerobics that i can get in and get out and get showered and Wii Fit doesn’t work for me… because it seems quite low impact in many respects..time consuming for what you get. But the yoga is good and balance stuff..if I had more time it would be worth the money

I have the Wii Fit and it helped me lose the first 30 lb. of the 55 lb. I have lost in the past year. I joined the gym and do check in on the Wii because it has graphed/charted my weight loss for that time period.

One the most amazing things to me is how much it helped me with my balance. The games on there for that especially are very fun. I was a total klutz and couldn’t balance AT ALL. But now I am one of the strongest people in my training class at the gym for balance.

I had received it for my birthday in September 2008 and when I got on it and it said ‘You’re Obese!’ and then told me my Fit Age was 61, (I’m not anywhere NEAR that!), I wanted to cry (Happy Birthday!) – but it was a wakeup and I can honestly say it is what got me thinking – ‘you need to do something.’ Now, I didn’t start until December 2008, but the Wii has been with me all the way.

I have a wii fit. It’s startlingly motivational. My wii fit is named Wesley because that’s what smarty-pants robots should be called. I find myself really caring what Wesley thinks of me which leads me to be more responsible about working out every day and paying attention to what i eat. (For example, if I eat this cake, Wesley is not going to be pleased.) I think this is the result of passive aggressive programming – highly, highly effective.

The Wii fit games themselves aren’t that strenuous but there are other games (like “Just Dance”!) that are much more aerobic (and awesome). There are online reviews of each at Amazon and on other search sites.
