What is the name of the store in North Beach (SF) that sells decorated mediterranean ceramics?

Asked by occ (4179points) December 23rd, 2009

I remember going to a small store in North Beach (San Francisco) once, I believe on Columbus (the west side of the street? I can picture it)...the store sold lots of ceramics – plates, pitchers – with pretty mediterean (or is it mexican?) style designs on the ceramics – floral, etc. Anyone know which store this is?

I don’t know the name of the store, but it sounds like the ceramic style you are looking for is known as “Majolica” or “Maiolica”.Good luck :)

I think what you are lookin for is Biordi Art Imports

http://www.biordi.com/

After you shop, walk to the next block and try Michaelangelo Caffe, reasonable and authentic. We used to go there all the time until I decided I hated my s-i-l whose b-i-l opened it.
