there was a thread a few days ago about as seen on tv products, and there was much talk about the slap chop. the shamwow was bull so i don’t know if i trust any of the products this guy promotes

Billy Mays was known by his friends to be kind and unbelievably generous.
You may have found that he was loud and perhaps you did not like his commercials.
He was hard working and successful, a pioneer in his field.
Calling him “Dead Screamer Dude” reflects badly on you not him! I can’t believe you worded your question that way. You are usually so much more thoughtful and articulate.

I’m sure the product works as illustrated. I can’t say how many individual “Slap Chops” Vern went through in filming the commercial, a process that can take over a day or more.

To answer the question, we had a very similar product in college.

It didn’t work. At all.

The story goes, Vince hired a hooker. Sometime during the night, he kissed her, and she bit his tongue and wouldn’t let go. He punched her. She hit back. They were both arrested. Eventually all the charges were dropped.

And Billy Mays was a good guy and well respected around town.

Oh, and no, I don’t have a “Slap Chop”. I did have a Pampered Chef food chopper, but my son broke it. I miss it dearly.

I have one, and it works great, but the fatal flaw is a flimsy bottom plastic piece. Eventually it starts to shred up. And then shreds go into the food.

The Slap Chop would be a perfect appliance, if it were all metallic. But the plastic ruins it. I sure liked it during the first month when the plastic thing didn’t start shredding up.

I have a Slap Chop. It’s pretty good. My life is exciting now, and I love his nuts. I have trouble with food getting caught between the blades though.
