Do the blades on Swiss Army Knives lock when open?
I’m looking to buy a small utility knife for my keyring, but I want to get one where the blade locks to avoid accidentally cutting myself. Do you know if Swiss Army blades lock? Have a recommendation for a good multitool?

So-called Swiss Officer’s Knives are made by lots of different manufacturers. One which used to actually supply the Swiss Army was Victorinox. I’m pretty sure all Victorinox blades lock. I would look on Amazon.
Thanks. To clarify, I’m talking about the Victorinox blades on Amazon, and I can’t find an answer as to whether they lock or not on the site.
Yes, I own one. They lock.
I have this one and it does not lock.
The two that I have don’t. They open stiff, but don’t lock.
All the Swiss Army knives I’ve looked at have either a nail file or a corckscrew, but not both…
Must remaining civilised always be so challenging??
I just checked the one in my pocket. You have to depress a little lever on the back of the handle before the blades will close. I guess you need to look at a cutlery store for the right model and then buy it on Amazon to get a better price.
@proXXi Mine has both nail file and cork screw
I have owned many knives and the only ones that lock in my experience are single blade knives. Any of the “swiss army knives” style ones don’t lock.
But that is just my experience.
I should add that opening stuff on my knife has always been hard. I can’t imagine something coming out on accident. I usually use a key to open the blade.
I don’t use it that often. I’m a Leatherman guy now.
I lost my Leatherman at airport security.
Thank you so much Bin Laden.
No, really. Thanks so #%!^&#$@ ing much, you #&$%$!ing &(#$%^
*er!!!!!
Somehow I doubt that’s what your dumbass god had in mind…..
I have had a couple of the official Victorinox pocket knives and none of them locked. I have a really cool switchblade that does, which is good because when you stab someone with it, it doesn’t fold in but it is a pain when you want to get it back into your pocket quickly because the cops are coming.
@proXXi I lost a Zippo the same way.Oddly enough, pre-9/11 I managed to get a 5-inch Buck knife I had in my back pocket through not one but two metal detectors and I didn’t even know it was there until I sat down the second time and felt it in my back pocket!
