Do added ingredients in facial tissues really make a difference?
I use to have the worlds worst problems with my sinuses. riding a police motorcycle for seven years did not help the situation. through the years, different ingredients, like aloe, have been added to facial tissues to make them soft. does this addition really make a difference or is this just another commercial ploy to make you want to buy their product?

I’d like to say no, they are just a marketing ploy, but I have found that when I hae a bad cold, the softer tissues with the added aloe are soothing.
Commercial ploy most of the time. But I think Aloe Vera has been proven to help decongest the nose, but you don’t know what they use exactly to get that Aloe Vera smell, whether it’s genuine Aloe extract from the plant or not, either way if it helps you then that’s all that matters.
The tissues with lotion feel better on a sore nose but I have noticed I get pimples it I use them for too long.
The ones with added lotion and aloe vera definitely help keep my nose from getting raw when I’m sick. I don’t bother buying them when I’m not sick as they’re so much more expensive, but they’re a must have for when I have a head cold and blow my nose every minute. I also like the ones with Vick’s added when I have a head cold; breathing in the Vick’s smell helps clear things up a little.
I cannot resist this. There were sleeves before tissues.
Lotion makes the tissue softer, but you can’t clean your glasses!
When I’m sick, I like the 3 ply tissues with lotion. If I’m congested, I need all 3 plys (plies?) to catch what’s on its way out. And the lotion keeps my nose from getting raw.
It depends on what the added features are. I tried the antiviral tissues, but I had to stop using them because they made my nose sting. However, I do like Puffs plus with lotion. If I use regular tissues when I have a cold, they start to irritate my skin because they feel like sandpaper. The lotioned tissues are soothing and won’t dry your skin as much.
