How do I go about leaving comments to those who respond to my question?
Fluther is quite unique, and unlike previous sites in which I have participated. I am able to indicate answers I like, but how can I comment to those who leave me specific answers on a question which I ask? Thanks in advance for any guidance you may provide.

you use the @ symbol, and then on the right, everyone active in the thread’s name will pop up on the right, and you just click on the name of the person you are writing the answer to : )
Click on the username or avatar of the person you wish to respond to privately. Scroll down until you see the yellow box.
Write your note in it and hit “comment.”
And yes, fluther is unique. Welcome.
Thanks, all!
@Violet, I guess I need to use the “Answer this question” box. I was looking for a “Comment” box.
@gailcalled, thank you for your kind welcome! And thanks for your answer. I did not realize that comments were intended to be private. I hope I am not violating anything by starting a discussion in an “Answer” box!
@cyndihugs, and thank you for your answer!! :-)
@ChicagoLady: Save your energy and don’t bother saying “Thank you” publicly to all. It’s not the Fluther custom. Either use the private comment mechanism or the chat room for chatting. The private comments may be either private (check the box) or available to us all, should we want to read them. Just don’t check the box, then.
The ABer’s are accustomed to thanking and chatting on the public forum, I think. We do it less here.
@ChicagoLady, welcome! I’m relatively new, and I love Fluther. It’s really easy to become addicted. You’ll come across a wide range of questions and answers!
You can thank me in public if you want. I don’t mind.
@lfino & @Darwin: At the risk of offending some, thank you for your welcomes. :-)
@ChicagoLady at the bottom of this answer, you’ll see a button “thank cyndihugs” after “flag as….” You can click that button. =)
@cyndihugs: No button on my computer that says thank cyndihugs.
