I’m 18 and I haven’t stopped yet. Last year was the best. My friends and I went up to my vacation home in Lake Tahoe and had a pretty awesome party. I’m not sure if this year will be able to top that, but I am looking forward to it. It’s fun.

But I suppose one would expect such an answer from someone my age…

I’m excited for NYE!

I’ve never partied! I’m only 20, though. This may be different once I can drink.. :P

i wouldn’t mind staying in if i had someone special enough to spend nye with….

Last time I “partied” for New Years, was when I was 20. I don’t even leave the house any more on New Years eve.

Oddly, it coincided with my first pregnancy and subsequent child. She turned 11 this year. That is how long it has been since I had a fun NYE…....o.0

When I decided that I needed no reason to get drunk.

It’s been so long I forget.

After the rabbit died and the stork came.

I never started, so it was easy to stop.

I never really did. When I was a kid I’d stay up and play monopoly with my mom while watching Dick Clark, when I was in the Marine Corps band I’d have to get up at 3AM to be in Pasadena by the time we marched in the tournament of roses parade, other than that none of my new years eve have been at all memorable.

Do you feel that you’ve missed out as a result, Missy?

About two years ago when I had to sit in with one of our dogs who was very scared of fireworks. I realised that I much preferred staying and doing my own thing so I continued to do it even though said dog has since passed away. RIP Deedee

Aww….I’m sorry, Leanne. I hope you have fond memories of her.

@phillis She was a beautiful little Field Spaniel and a dear friend, I have very fond memories of her! :)

2001… was the last time… I found myself in the loo of a big nightclub at midnight talking to my friend in the next cubicle.. neither of us were drunk..and I was bored of getting drunk, being out, in crowded places, with dangerous behaviour around me, with people that didn’t really care about me.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

I never really did, I dislike crowds. The only exception was the Millenium as we were on our honeymoon in Barbados. We were more interested in dancing (and other activities) than drinking. Now I’m back to solitary, alcohol and valium will be my companions. I plan on being unconcious well before 2400 hours.

Never really partied. Even when I was in college, we usually had small dinner-parties at someone’s house. I much prefer hanging with close friends and family.

I’ve never liked partying on New Year’s Eve. I have been at parties but hated it. I can’t stand drunks thinking they can kiss you at midnight. I always stay in the bathroom while all of that is going on.

When I grew tired of trying to avoid being puked on. Really takes the fun out of a night.

We may be a little older, but we are not dead…..............yet.

When I was 23 was the last time I went out for New Years. I’m just not fond of being in a crowd of drunken fools. I’d rather spend New Years at home with a few close friends or even alone.

knitfroggy's avatar

I’ve never gone out on New Years. Two years ago I went to a bar on New Years for the first time. It was fun but I just wanted to get home. I hate driving around because I’m sure there are so many drunks out. We usually go to a family members house and play cards and games and go home about 12:05.

Just starting again. The kids are grown! The kids are grown!

With my job as a young adult, I got to see, first hand, the results of what “partying” could and, in too many cases, would get you. That isn’t the kind of grief I need . I like a quiet night at home much better.

missyb's avatar

@phillis no, not really. I’ve never been much of a partier.

mass_pike4's avatar

this year. I been drinking too much as it is. Oh, and I’m 22. I’ve had enough of wild and craziness

AnnieB's avatar

Ive been to one New Year’s party in my life…I was 21 or 22…I prefer to stay home.

nebule's avatar

@janbb does it feel like it’s been a long time?

hungryhungryhortence's avatar

If not for the worry of being killed while driving on the roads where I live, I’d happily go to parties or restaurant bashes, age hasn’t affected my interest in celebrating with people I enjoy.
